To change the perspective or POV to third person, simply hold the Back button (Xbox) or Touch Pad (PlayStation) while in game. On PC, press the U key to switch to third person as well. To return to first person view, perform the same action again.

Once in third person, you can switch your shoulder view between left and right by holding the Up D-pad on consoles or pressing the H key on PC.

The Outer Worlds 2 Perspective Settings

Open Settings from the menu, select Gameplay, and scroll to Perspective. From there, you can choose between First Person, Third Person Near, and Third Person Far. You can also switch your shoulder view here by selecting either Default (Left) or Swap (Right) under the Use Alternate Shoulder option.
