|
Positive | Crafting recipes for ammo, throwables and resources create up to twice as many of those items for the same amount of crafting materials. |
 Lucky
|
Positive | +5% Critical Chance
Certain opportunites are just accessible to you. |
 Nimble
|
Positive | +25% Crouch Speed
+25% Combat Sprint Speed |
 Brilliant
|
Positive | During skill selection, Specialize in 1 additional skill. Specialized skills start with 2 points. |
 Heroic
|
Positive | -20% Companion Ability Charge Time |
 Brawny
|
Positive | Sliding or sprinting into hostiles will knock them down. 5 seconds cooldown. |
 Resilient
|
Positive | Death is prevented for 3s the first time you would have died each combat. |
 Suave
|
Positive | 10% discount at vendors.
Bounty must be two times higher than normal to be seen as an Outlaw. |
 Witty
|
Positive | Reputation with any faction can never decrease below neutral.
Penalties such as vendor surcharges from negative reputation prevented. |
 Abrasive
|
Negative | Reputation with any faction can never increase above Neutral, preventing any bonuses that would be gained from having a positive reputation with a faction such as vendor discounts. |
 Dumb
|
Negative | During skill selection, lock 5 of the 12 available skills. Those skills can never have points added to them. |
 Sickly
|
Negative | -15% Base Health
-15 Toxicity Crash Threshold |
How to Get Traits in Outer Worlds 2
Choose Traits at the Start of the Game
Traits are only chosen at the start of the game and you can choose between:
- One positive trait and no negative traits.
- Two positive traits and one negative trait.
You can refer to our Best Traits to choose and find out what type of traits you'll like and their advantages as well as disadvantages before starting the game!
Should You Get Negative Traits?
Pick Up Sickly as a Negative Trait Once Required
Getting a Negative Trait requires you to choose two positive traits in the process, in this case, we advise choosing Sickly for your trait, as this has the lightest consequence of all the negative traits in the game, only costing some health and some toxicity crash resistance.
Pick Up Dumb on Consecutive Playthroughs
You can also pick the Dumb trait on a second playthrough onwards if you want to sacrifice some skills and make your character building in the game more specialized. This makes it easier for you to put stats only on necessary upgrades rather than have them spread thin.

Be wise when choosing your traits as they will be the defining character foundations of your Commander throughout the game and will affect your interactions within Arcadia.
