How to Level Up Fast

Tips for Leveling Up Fast

Kill Enemies

Outer Worlds 2 Kill Enemies

The easiest way to earn XP in The Outer Worlds 2 is by simply killing enemies. You’ll encounter plenty of them not just during quests, but also while exploring the Arcadia system. The amount of XP you earn also depends on the enemy type. For instance, weaker, smaller enemies give small amounts of XP, while tougher, brutish ones reward you with significantly more XP.

Enemies Do Not Respawn

Outer Worlds 2 Enemies Respawn

Enemies in the game do not respawn. If you want to maximize your XP gains in each region, we recommend to kill all enemies in an area before moving on. This ensures you've maximized all XP possible.

Do Enemies Respawn?

Perform Skill-specific Actions or Dialogue

Skills give you unique ways to approach different situations in the game, and performing Skill-specific actions or selecting dialogue options tied to a Skill grants you significant XP.

For example, you can use your Engineering skill to pry open a jammed door, or your Speech skill to talk your way out of being caught stealing. Always choose Skill-specific actions and dialogue whenever possible to earn more XP.

Complete Quests

Another obvious method to earn XP is by completing quests. Main Quests provide the most XP, but we also recommend going out of your way to complete Side Quests in every region, as they offer substantial rewards and XP as well.

Unlock Areas Throughout the Map

Outer Worlds 2 Seach Area

Following the Main Quest would naturally lead you to major areas in each region, but it won't reveal the entire map. One of the easiest ways to earn XP would be to explore the map and unlock areas, including fast travel points. While the XP rewards are small, they do add up as you explore all the regions.

Get Foot-in-Mouth Syndrome Flaw

Outer Worlds 2 Foot in Mouth Syndrome

You can get the Foot-in-Mouth Syndrome flaw to earn bonus XP when talking with NPCs. This flaw causes your conversation options to be randomly chosen after 15 seconds, but grants you +15% XP. It’s not much of a drawback as long as you read and choose quickly.

To unlock Foot-in-Mouth Syndrome, rush through NPC interactions by immediately choosing dialogue options after engaging in conversation. Just note that accepting any flaw is permanent and cannot be removed from your character.
