The Stealth Build prioritizes concealment and assassination above all, taking enemies down quietly by either sniping them from afar or with a well-placed knife to the back.
Any background will work for the Stealth build, as they are mostly for roleplay and dialogue options. The Professor background, however, has a slight advantage as you get numerous exclusive dialogue options with the background, some of which can help bypass dangerous situations.
| ・+25% Crouch Speed ・+25% Combat Sprint Speed |
|
| ・During skill selection, Specialize in 1 additional skill. Specialized skills start with 2 points. |
For Positive Traits, we highly recommend Nimble and Brilliant. Nimble provides Crouch Speed to help with sneaking, as well as Combat Sprint Speed to help make distance and reposition should combat break out.
Brilliant, on the other hand, will allow you to pick another Specialized skill, giving you an advantage in the early game.
| Trait | Effect |
|---|---|
| ・-15% Base Health ・-15 Toxicity Crash Threshold |
|
| ・During skill selection, lock 5 of the 12 available skills. Those skills can never have points added to them. |
As you will be picking two Positive Traits, you will also need to pick a Negative Trait. We highly recommend either Sickly or Dumb. As you will be avoiding combat as much as possible, Sickly's reduced Base Health and Toxicity Crash Threshold shouldn't affect you as much.
Alternatively, you can select Dumb and lock out Engineering, Explosives, Medical, Science!, and Leadership as you won't be using those skills as much.
| Flaw | Positive Effect | Negative Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Bad Knees | +50% Crouch Speed | Crouching emits a 10m radius sound that hostiles can hear and investigate |
| Treacherous | +50% Enemy Awareness Depletion Rate & +100% Sneak Attack Damage | -25% Base Health |
| Anger Mismanagement | +25% Power Attack Damage | +50% Damage Received While Blocking |
| N-Radiated | Camouflaged: Invisible to enemies and deal bonus damage. Cooldown: 30s. | Whenever you take damage, there is a 5% chance you become Camouflaged automatically, but take an additional 5% of your max health as N-Ray damage. |
These are the Best Flaws to get for the Stealth Build. These flaws provide effects that strengthen your ability to stay hidden, your movement while hidden, and the damage your Sneak Attacks deal. Their negative effects are either manageable or easy to play around.
| Specialized Skills | ||
|---|---|---|
As a Stealth Build, you will primarily be sneaking around and looking for alternate paths to avoid enemies. Sneak increases your Sneak damage and lowers NPC Detection Rate, while Lockpick and Hack allow you to find alternate paths and quest solutions.
| Useful Skills | ||
|---|---|---|
Other than the Specialized skills, you will also need to take Guns and Melee to improve your damage. Get Observation as well as this not only improves your Weakspot damage, but also reveals hidden things like containers and pathways.

This Skill allocation will allow you to sneak around and deal massive amounts of damage. Additionally, it will help you unlock all of the Perks you need for the build.
Prioritize leveling Sneak before upgrading your Guns and Melee. Add points into Hack and Lockpick when needed, then put the rest into Observation.

| Weapon | Mods |
|---|---|
The Simplifier
|
・Silencer ・Pinpoint Assassin |
Murder's Best Friend
|
・Covert Grip ・Killing Spree |
The Stealth Build's lineup will revolve around two weapons: The Simplifier Sniper Rifle, and the Murder's Best Friend Knife. The Simplifier allows you to snipe targets from a distance, as it has near-perfect accuracy, no falloff damage, and a custom scope.
Murder's Best Friend, on the other hand, increases your damage and Crouch Movement Speed with each kill (capping at 3 kills). This makes it perfect for stealthily taking down enemies while you are infiltrating.
Should you have another weapon slot available (via the Extra Holster mod), bring an alternate Gun that you can use if you get detected. Good options include the Chainspark Cannon or a Triple Barrel Shotgun.

Monocular Target-Finder
|
・Range Scanner ・Mass Distributor |
Native Species
|
・Defensive Plates ・From Nowhere ・Cauterizing Materials |
This armor loadout is the best for Stealth builds as they improve your stealth capabilities and increase your Weakspot Damage. The Monocular Target-Finder improves your Weakspot Damage by up to 30% based on your distance from the target, on top of the helmet's innate +10% Weakspot Damage.
Native Species, on the other hand, reduces your weapon's sound radius by up to 50% based on your Sneak skill. This makes it easier to snipe enemies without being discovered.
| Companion | Perks |
|---|---|
Niles |
・I Got 'Em ・Spotter ・Self Repairing Armor ・Ghost Array Mod ・Dumb Aggression ・Smokescreen Emitter |
Aza |
・From the Shadows ・Strike From Smoke ・Assisted Takedowns ・Shorten the Fuse ・Flurry of Blades ・N-Ray Charge |
When running a Stealth build, bring along Niles and Aza as your Companions. Niles serves as both the tank and stealth support, while Aza is your dedicated stealth support.
Niles will help you hide from enemies and will taunt enemies during combat to divert damage away from you. Aza, on the other hand, will improve your sneak damage, as well as deal massive amounts of damage to enemies that Niles is taunting.

The best gadgets for the Stealth build are Auntie's Acidic Dematerializer and the N-Ray Scanner.
The Dematerializer allows you to dissolve bodies that you take down, preventing them from being discovered by other enemies. The N-Ray Scanner, on the other hand, allows you to see enemies through walls, making it easier to sneak around.
The Adreno Spume Boom Starter Plus is the best Inhaler for the Stealth build, as not only does it provide immediate healing, but it also provides healing over time, allowing you to heal large amounts of HP per Medical Inhaler use.
The Distraction Device is the best throwable you can equip for the Stealth build as it helps you distract guards, allowing you to either sneak past them or take them down easily.
