To holster your weapon, simply hold the reload button to put your weapon away. Pressing the reload button again or the attack button will draw your weapon.

Why Holster Your Weapons?

Avoid Accidentally Firing in Friendly Areas

Holstering your weapon is useful when visiting friendly or neutral areas to prevent accidentally firing your gun or hitting an NPC with a melee weapon.

For instance, firing a weapon in a town will startle its residents and alert the authorities. If you’re in a faction-controlled area, attacking NPCs will place a bounty on you, causing faction members to hunt you down.
