Can You Respec?

There is only one limited way to respec your character in The Outer Worlds 2, available only at the very start of the game. Read on to learn how to respec your character and which changes you can make.

Can You Respec?

Only One Respec Opportunity After the Prologue

Valerie Final Respec

At the end of the Prologue Mission, there is one final opportunity to respec your Traits and Skills. At the mission's end, after the title screen, the robot Valerie will speak to you and ask if you wish to respec your character.

The character you continue with afterward is permanent for the rest of the game. You also cannot change your character’s appearance or background after the initial character creation.

No Respec After Starting First Mission

Last Respec Chance

After Valerie’s respec offer, there are no other ways to respec your character. This makes your choices during character creation carry much greater weight and commitment.
