How to Unlock Better Than Nature
Accept Inez's Deal and Recruit Her as a Companion
Before you can begin Inez's companion quest, you'll first have to find her in the Ministry of Accuracy and then send her back to Fairfield. You can do this by simply exploring the location or by completing either A Refreshing Bit of News or Above and Beyond Repair.
After you send Inez to Fairfield, fast travel back and head to the Town Hall where you'll find her arguing with Minister Milverstreet. Give your two cents on Inez's situation then speak to her again after she storms off to trigger her quest.
Note: When accepting her companion quest, Inez'll ask you to send one of your current companions back to the Incognito so she can join your active party.

Speak to Ethel Tinsley in Her Lab
With Inez in your party, head to Ethel Tinsley’s lab at the north end of Fairfield and speak to her there. Ethel will instruct you to bring back either a Raptidon Matriarch Graft or a Skeleton Crabble Graft to continue Inez' procedure.
Defeat Either the Raptidon or Crabble Bosses for Their Parts

Defeat and harvest either the Raptidon Matriarch or the Skeleton Crabble. You can choose just one to harvest, or defeat both for an additional graft option for Inez and extra XP.
Crabble Graft or Raptidon Graft?
Option 1: Harvest the Skeleton Crabble
| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |

| 1 |  The Skeleton Crabble is located on the Mysterious Cave by the shore, on the southwest end of Paradise Island. |
| 2 |  Once inside the cave, Inez will access the Terminal in there to help you activate the Phonotron. Interact with it to summon the Skeleton Crabble for a boss fight. |
| 3 |  The Skeleton Crabble will appear, alongside a few other Crabble mobs. The boss has much higher HP and deals more damage than normal Crabbles, so prepare for a tough fight. |
| 4 |  Once the boss is defeated, harvest the Skeleton Crabble Grafting Specimen from its corpse. |
Option 2: Harvest the Raptidon Matriarch

| 1 |  For this option, you must first gain access to the northern section of Paradise Island, and there are three ways to do so: ① Complete An Aegis Against the Miasma for a Zyranium Shield that allows you to cross the contaminated path in the west. ② Complete The Saga of Malfunctioning Mechanicals to get info on a secret path, located on the eastern part of the island. Requires Thruster Boots obtained in A Final Death for Gravity. ③ Complete For Whom the Bridge Tolls to have a guard let you pass freely through the central bridge. Alternatively, you can simply fight your way through the bridge, killing all the guards there. |
| 2 |  Once you have access to the northern part of the island, head to the Raptidon Den located northwest of the Vox Relay. |
| 3 |  Deep inside the cave at the Matriarch's boss fight spot, speak to Inez. She will have pheromones to get the Raptidon Matriarch out of hiding. Exhaust her dialogue to start the boss fight. Skill Check: With Science! Level 2, you have an option to modify the pheromones to weaken and confuse the Matriarch. |
| 4 |  The Raptidon Matriarch will appear, alongside a few other Raptidon mobs. The boss has much higher HP and deals more damage than normal Raptidons, so be ready for a tough fight. |
| 5 |  Once the boss is defeated, harvest the Raptidon Matriarch Grafting Specimen from its corpse. |
Return the Graft Part(s) to Ethel Tinsley
With one or both Grafting Specimens in hand, return to Ethel in Fairfield to complete Inez’s treatment. If you have both, you can choose which graft to give her.
The Raptidon graft makes Inez's Magic Bullet a defensive ability, allowing her to cloak herself and heal you and your allies when activated. The Crabble graft instead grants an offensive ability, enabling her to fire armor-piercing attacks.
Better Than Nature Choices
Choose Which Creature to Defeat (Or Defeat Both)
You can choose to hunt either the Skeleton Crabble or Raptidon Matriarch, each dropping a unique graft that grants Inez different abilities. You may also defeat and harvest both for extra XP, then decide which one to use when you return to Ethel.
The Skeleton Crabble can be defeated much earlier since it is located on the southern portion of Paradise Island, which you start the game in and can traverse around freely.
The Raptidon Matriarch is found in the northern half of the island, which requires special means to cross to that you will eventually need for The Saboteur of Paradise main quest.

Each graft option gives Inez a different companion ability. The Crabble graft is offensive, giving her ranged armor-piercing attacks, while the Raptidon graft is defensive, allowing her to camouflage herself and heal you and your allies. Both options are called The Magic Bullet.
