Outer Worlds 2 Show Player Helmet Option

To hide your helmet, open the Settings from the menu and go to Gameplay. Under General, set the Show Player Helmet option to Hide. This will hide your helmet or head armor when you have one equipped. This will not affect your equipment or stats.

You can also hide your Companions’ helmets. Under Show Companion Helmets in the General Settings, you can choose between Default, Always On, and Always Off. With Default, Companions wear helmets while exploring, but not while on your ship. This will not affect their stats when not shown.

Outer Worlds 2 Distractingly Large Helmet

New to The Outer Worlds 2 is the third person POV, allowing players to see their characters from an over-the-shoulder camera angle. The Show Player Helmet option can be useful if you have a distractingly large helmet equipped and want a clearer view of your surrioundings.

If you’re also outfit-conscious or feel like your helmet doesn’t match your outfit but still want to keep the equipment's stats, hiding your helmet lets you keep your stats while maintaining your character’s appearance to your liking.
