Best Main Story Ending
Convince the Consul to Sacrifice Himself
To get the best ending, you need Speech Level 20 and must have discovered key information before speaking with Consul Emory Thoreau at the end of Sins of the Past on the Precipice of the Future. This will let you skip the final boss fight, as the Consul sacrifices himself to save the enrite Arcadia star system.
Make sure you also make these decisions during key quests to get the best ending:

| Do More Harm | Learn from Zeb at the Tomb of the Matriarch that the skip drives weren’t invented by the Matriarch. |
| Mysteries of the Mental Modulators Escape From Placid Waters |
Find all audio logs revealing that Sovereign Henry Varick underwent mental refreshment and discover his body in a vegetative state on the lowest level of Placid Waters Wellnitarium. |
| Sins of the Past on the Precipice of the Future | Speak with Chief Scientist Jude Monserrate to learn that the rift does not revert to its original form. You must have the Professor background or a high Science! level. |
| Read all the logs and messages in Sovereign Henry Varick’s terminal in his office at the Skip Drive Diagnostic Laboratories. |
