A Cause Worth Killing For Walkthrough

Should You Choose Security Ops or Central Dispatch?

Choose Security Ops If You Prefer the Stealth Route

Security Ops

If you choose to go through Security Ops, this route will be more stealth-heavy. We recommend having at least Hack Level 1 or Lockpick Level 1, and Engineering Level 1 to make the most of this path. You can earn extra XP from performing Skill-related actions.

You can do the following in this route:

  • You can find a Sentry Blade from a corpse, as well as free Decoy Grenades in this route.
  • If you have Hack Level 1, you can obtain the Pumping Station Keycard from one of the terminals here to access the Pumping Station. This is an alternate path to the skip labs aside from the bridge.
  • If you have Engineering 1, you can reprogram the security bots to turn them against the Protectorate, making enemy encounters easier.

Choose Central Dispatch If You Prefer a Combat-Heavy Approach

Central Dispatch

If you choose to go through Central Dispatch, this route will be more combat-heavy. We recommend having at least Hack Level 1 or Innovative Level 1 to maximize your options in this path.

You can do the following in this route:

  • You can find a Stun Baton during this route as well as a Vending Machine you can resupply from.
  • If you have Hack Level 1 or the Innovative Trait, you can replace the soldiers' communications with Earth Directorate propaganda. This will stop the human enemy spawns if the bridge is lowered, leaving only the mechs.
  • There's also a terminal you can hack that rewards 500 Bits if done successfully.
  • At the end of this route, Niles will be lucid when you reunite with your squad. You can pickpocket him for Bits during this unique interaction.
