Head to the Bridge of the Reverent, the main bridge connecting the south of the island to the north. Follow the road toward the bridge, avoiding the open areas on the side since they are littered with mines.
At the bridge, speak to Senior Warden Weintraut and accept her offer to bring back two traitors in exchange for free passage across the bridge.

| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() Head to Sovereign's Sweet Spire Grove, located just southwest of Fairfield. |
| 2 | To go up, you can either fix the elevator with an Engineer 3 check or do a quick climb up the side of the mountain. |
| 3 | ![]() As you approach the tower, Jackson Plum attempts to jump down and dies. Examine his body to continue. This is also the beginning of a separate side quest called A Final Death for Gravity. ▶︎ A Final Death for Gravity Walkthrough |
| 4 | ![]() The two Auntie's Choice workers above will speak to you. Ask them about Ida Rutledge, and they will inform you of her demise. You'll be needing this info later on when you return to the Senior Warden. |
| 5 | ![]() For additional proof of Ida’s death, collect her severed arm from the conveyor belt to the left of Jackson’s corpse. With the arm in your inventory, you will have sufficient evidence to show Senior Warden Weintraut that Ida is dead. |

You can find Charlton Weintraut in Westport by the central plaza. If you've finished The Brain Benders of Auntie's Choice! and had the Westport residents leave the place, he will instead be in Fairfield, in the same building Minister Milverstreet is in.
Speak with him about the bridge, and use a Speech 3 check to convince him to go there. This is the only way to make him leave, so the Speech skill is required to complete this objective.
We recommend speaking to him only when you have the Speech 3 available already, so you can convince him right away. Otherwise, you may need to complete an extra step for the bridge-related dialogue options to appear again.
| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() If you fail to convince him the first time and lack Medical 3 or knowledge of his Purpleberry Krunch addiction, your next conversations will have only one dialogue option that ends with you leaving. If you plan to return once you have the required Speech skill, you must first learn about his addiction for the extra dialogue options to be available again. |
| 2 | ![]() Head to his house in Westport, just west of the city walls. You can enter his house freely. |
| 3 | ![]() Access his Terminal and read all the logs, giving you the info that he is indeed a Purpleberry Krunch addict. |
| 4 | ![]() Return to Charlton and tell him you know he is an Auntie’s Choice sympathizer, claiming to be one yourself to earn his trust. After this, his dialogue will no longer lock, allowing you to try again to convince him with Speech 3. |

Return to the Bridge of the Reverent and speak to Senior Warden Weintraut. Charlton will be on his knees, about to be executed. If you have evidence of Charlton's Purpleberry Krunch addiction, you can tell this to the Senior Warden and get an additional 50 Bits and extra XP.
After witnessing the execution, hand over the severed arm and use the information you gathered to prove it belonged to Ida, completing the quest.
You will receive 2160 XP and gain free access across the bridge, unlocking a path to the northern part of Paradise Island. This portion of the island is mainly for The Saboteur of Paradise main quest, as well as other side quests and companion quest objectives that lead you there.
