Speak to Artificer Laureate Enola Kraft in Laplace's Garden in Cloister after finishing A Study in Disruption quest. As Enola gives you the reward for dealing with the cultist in Newton, she'll debrief you on the next task to complete in order to gain favor with the Order, and be granted an audience with Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar.
Click on a step to jump to its section in the walkthrough!

For your next task in gaining the Order's favor, Laureate Enola tells you that the Hyperion Satellite has crashed in Paradise Island and you are to recover the data stored within it. Unfortunately, Protectorate forces guards the crash site and she suggest looking for a way to distract them.
At this point, you have the choice to head straight to Paradise Island to look for the satellite, or take Enola's advice and visit Caffeintigration Point to find an alternate way to deal with the Protectorate.
We highly recommend visiting Caffeintigration Point as this opens an option for a peaceful way in dealing with the Protectorate forces, as well as unlocking a side quest, additional Order and Sub Rosa lore, and a secret vendor. This choice might also result in one of the endings.

Visit Caffeintigration Point and speak with the proprietor, Persephone Doyle. Persephone can be found around the cafe, either in the counter or at the back of the building. Ask her for "convictions" starts the quest, Controlling for Convenience. Finish this side quest to get Persephone's help in dealing with the Protectorate.
Once Persephone agrees to help, the Protectorate around the crash site will remain passive and will not shoot on sight. In exchange for helping, Persephone asks to take a copy of the satellite data which you can optionally do later.
Agreeing to let Persephone's copy the satellite data later can result in one of the endings. Once you've got her assistance, travel to Paradise Island.
If Marisol is in your party, she'll immediately identify Persephone as a spy, skipping the whole "convictions" conversation.

The crash site of the Hyperion Satellite is located north west from the Landing Pad in Paradise Island. Fast travel to The Bridge of the Reverent if you've already discovered it to find the crash site faster. From The Bridge of Reverent, follow the road west until you see a small Protectorate encampment.
Depending on whether you asked help or not from Persephone Doyle in Caffeintigration Point, you have two options on how to deal with the Protectorate forces in the area:

| Ways to Retrieve the Satellite Data | |
|---|---|
| Deal with Cadet Warden Halstead | Fight or Sneak Your Way In |
You have two options in entering the Protectorate encampment to reach the crashed satellite and retrieve the data. These options depends on your decision to seek help or not from Persephone Doyle in Caffeintigration Point.
Although both methods are viable in order to retrieve the satellite data, asking for Persephone's help results in one of the game's endings.
| Steps to Deal with Cadet Warden Halsted | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() If you've asked for help from Persephone Doyle after completing Controlling for Convenience quests, the Protectorate will remain passive and you'll be able to walk into the area freely. Enter the camp and follow the path towards the black smoke in the distance, here you'll meet Cadet Warden Halstead. |
| 2 | ![]() Speak with Cadet Halstead and tell her that you're the engineer sent out to examine the satellite. Halstead will not be convinced and you can assure her by passing an Engineering 4 skill check. If you don't have the skill, you can still convince her with the next dialogue that contains a skill check of Speech 4 or Grim Visage perk. |
| 3 | ![]() If you pass either set of skill checks, Halstead will allow you near the satellite to retrieve the data. If you fail any of the skill checks, Halstead and the rest of the Protectorate enemies will turn hostile and attack. |
| 4 | ![]() Once the satellite data is retrieved, return to Laureate Enola in Cloister to finish the quest. |
| Guide to Fighting or Sneaking into the Crash Site | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() If you didn't seek help from Persephone Doyle, the Protectorate forces will immediately turn hostile and open fire when they spot you. |
| 2 | ![]() If fighting your way through, caution is advised as there are plenty of Protectorate enemies around. Follow the black smoke towards the east side of the camp to find the crash site. |
| 3 | If sneaking your way in, from the entrance, head to the right side of the camp. Hug the wall and walk forward towards the black smoke in the distance to reach the crash site.
Use Distraction Devices to take the enemies' line of sight off you. |
| 4 | ![]() Collect the satellite data from the spacecraft, then return to Laureate Enola in Cloister to finish the quest. |

Once you arrive at Laplace's Garden, you'll have the choice to take the satellite data to Persephone so she can make a copy of it, or deliver the data straight to Laureate Enola and finish the quest.
Find Persephone at the back of the Caffeintigration Point and let her copy the satellite data as promised. She will be grateful and rewards you with the Generative Masked Flat Cap, 2000 Bits, and 1458 XP. Choosing to this has major consequences to one of the game's endings.
Alternatively, not letting Persephone copy the data by heading straight to Laureate Enola will anger her, and you'll lose access to her as a vendor.
Once you finish speaking with Persephone, return the satellite data to Laureate Enola to finish the quest and gain an audience with Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar.
Laureate Enola will be ecstatic in having the satellite data back, and now that you've finished all the task to gain the Order's trust, you're granted an audience with Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar. This officially finishes the quest, but the objectives continues on to An Equitable Arrangement.
Next, meet The Presiding Bishop by heading to the room inside the building connected to where Laureate Enola was. Climb up the stairs and meet with Vicar Laureate Alden Levin, one of the delegates in Fiends in High Places.

Upon reaching the top of the stairs, Vicar Laureate Alden Levin will speak to you. He tells you that an alliance between Auntie's Choice and the Order is still possible, and advices you to mention this when speaking to the Presiding Bishop.
Agreeing or disagreeing with the Vicar does not have major consequences. Once the conversation is finished, enter the door.
| Choice | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Successfully Persuade Ruth to Negotiate an Alliance | ・Bishop Ruth will arrange for a negotiation with Auntie Cleo. This continues the quest An Equitable Arrangement.
・Requires passing either Speech 7, Science! 7, or the Negotiator perk to convince Bishop Ruth to consider an alliance. |
| Fail to Persuade Ruth to Negotiate an Alliance | ・Locks you into siding with the Order of the Ascendant. This starts the quest Methods of Applied Force instead.
・This fails An Equitable Arrangement. |
Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar will speak to you as she comes out of the machine to talk about an alliance with Auntie's Choice. This is your last chance to propose an alliance between Auntie's Choice and the Order by agreeing with the delegates.
However, you'll need to pick a set of dialogue to convince Ruth to negotiate with Auntie Cleo. Alternatively, you can pass a skill check of either Speech 7, Science! 7, or the Negotiator perk to easily persuade her to an alliance.
| 1 | That's correct. Is this something you'd be open to? |
|---|---|
| 2 | Surely the Order isn't worried about Auntie's Choice beating them in a negotiation? |
| 3 | The Order and Auntie's Choice comes to a mutual understanding that benefits both groups. |
To convince Bishop Ruth, you'll need to choosing a specific set of dialogue as shown above, or pass a skill check for the following:
| ・ |
|
・ |
|
・Requires |
Failing to persuade Bishop Ruth to form an alliance locks you into siding with the Order. This also fails An Equitable Arrangement, and starts Methods of Applied Force.
Outright disagreeing to form an alliance, or failing to convince Bishop Ruth to negotiate with Auntie Cleo will have you side with the Order in infiltrating the Archive.
Siding with the Order results in the following:
WARNING: This is an irreversible choice and has major consequence to the story and the ending.
| Choice | Results |
|---|---|
| Propose an Alliance between Auntie's Choice and The Order | Requirements: Must have mentioned and agreed to an alliance between Auntie's Choice and The Order.
Requires passing a skill check of either Speech 7, Science! 7, or the Negotiator perk to convince Ruth Basar to start the negotiations. |
| Results: Continues An Equitable Arrangement quest.
Both Auntie's Choice and The Order will provide help in retaking Spireton and The Archive. |
|
| Side with the Order to Take the Archive | Requirements: Refuse and disagree to an alliance between Auntie's Choice and The Order.
Fail the speech checks in convincing Bishop Ruth Basar to have a negotiation. |
| Results: Starts Methods of Applied Force quest.
Fails An Equitable Arrangement quest. The Order will provide help in retaking Spireton and The Archive. Following with this route and retaking the Archive for the Order will change your Auntie's Choice reputation to Kill On Sight. This is an irreversible choice and has major consequences to the story and endings. |
The decision you make related to Auntie's Choice and The Order will affect the route of the main quest going forward. Once you make a choice, it can't be changed and will affect the ending.
It is highly recommended to persuade Presiding Bishop Ruth Basar to form an alliance with Auntie's Choice as this prevents your reputation to change to Kill On Sight once you retake Spireton and the Archive for one of the factions during Complication with the Computronic Cerebrum.
Additionally, both Auntie's Choice and The Order will provide aid during the last mission, Sins of the Past on the Precipice of the Future.
| Choice | Results |
|---|---|
| Get Persephone's Help | Requirements: Complete Controlling for Convenience side quest.
Agree to let Persephone copy the satellite data. |
| Results: Unlocks Persephone Doyle as a vendor.
Protectorate enemies near crash site will not be hostile. Opens the option to deal with Cadet Warden Halstead peacefully. (Requires either Engineering 4 or Speech 5) This choice has a major effect on the quest and the ending. |
|
| Do Not Get Persephone's Help | Results: Protectorate forces is hostile and will attack you on sight.
This choice won't open options for other endings. |
It's highly recommended to seek out Persephone's help in dealing with the Protectorate near the crash site, as not only does this make retrieving the satellite data faster and safer—it unlocks Controlling for Convenience side quest, additional lore about Sub Rosa and the Order, and unlocks her as a vendor.
Additionally, getting Persephone's help in exchange for letting her copy the data will affect one of the game's endings.
| Choice | Results |
|---|---|
| Deal with Cadet Halstead | Requirements: Must have asked for help from Persephone Doyle in Caffeintigration Point.
Requires passing either the Engineering 4, Speech 4, or Grim Visage skill checks to convince her. |
| Results: This is a non-violent resolution to acquiring the satellite data.
This choice has no major consequences to the quest. |
|
| Shoot Your Way Through | Results: Protectorate forces remain hostile and will attack you on sight.
This method yields more XP and loot. This choice has no major consequences to the quest. |
| Sneak Your Way In | Results: Protectorate forces remain hostile and will attack you on sight.
This is a safer method. This choice has no major consequences to the quest. |
Convincing Cadet Halstead is only possible when you've asked for help from Persephone Doyle. As the Protectorate near the crash site remains passive, giving you the change to talk with her. However, convincing her requires passing either an Engineering 4 skill check, or the following Speech 4 and Speech 5 check respectively. Failing to convince Cadet Halstead makes her, and the Protectorate in the encampment hostile.
Both methods are viable and does not have any major consequence to the quest.
| Choice | Results |
|---|---|
| Let Persephone Copy the Satellite Data | Requirements: Must have asked Persephone for help on the Protectorate near the crash site. |
| Results: Gives Generative Masked Flat Cap helmet and 2000 Bits as reward.
This choice has a major consequences to the game's ending. |
|
| Do Not Let Persephone Copy the Satellite Data | Results: This will anger Persephone.
Lose access to Persephone as a vendor. No extra rewards will be given by Persephone. This choice won't open options for other endings. |
Allowing Persephone to copy the satellite data is the exchange for her help with the Protectorate near the crash site. This is an optional objective, and can be done by bringing the satellite data to her before delivering it to Laureate Enola. Allowing her copy the satellite has major consequence to the game's ending. Not allowing Persephone to copy the data will anger her, and she'll stop selling you her items.
Persephone rewards you with Generative Masked Flat Cap helmet and 2000 Bits for keeping your end of the deal.
