The Innovative Trait can be a good trait for builds that require a lot of ammo or throwables since it allows you to create more for the same amount of materials.

Having the Innovative trait also allows you to perform special actions involving technology or engineering that would otherwise require you to do something else.

An example for this is powering up the substation which would normally require Engineering 3 or finding the repair kit but can be solely done just by being Innovative.
