Outer Worlds 2 What to Buy and Sell First
Buy ammo and weapons first, and sell junk and old equipment early on in The Outer Worlds 2. This guide will show you what buy and sell first when starting your journey in the game!

What to Buy First

Buy Ammo First

Outer Worlds 2 Buy Ammo First

While ammo is relatively abundant in the game, you may still burn through it quickly, especially if you're going for a gun-heavy playstyle. Always buy ammo first to keep your supply replenished, particularly when preparing for missions.

Ammo can be purchased from vending machines, crafted at a Workbench, or looted from corpses and containers.

How to Get Ammo

Purchase Weapons When Available

Weapons and armor can also be bought from vending machines, though the former is somewhat rarer to find. It’s best to buy weapons whenever they’re available in vendors. Choose the right type of weapon that fits your character build and playstyle, as your combat effectiveness will be reliant on your build and how you use the weapons.

Outer Worlds 2 Breakdown Items

While most junk can simply be sold, we recommend keeping items such as Cigarettes, Crab Meat, and other items that give rare crafting materials like Nicotine and Crude Biomass. You can use these materials to craft valuable resources like Inhaler Charges.

To breakdown items, interact with a Workbench and select Breakdown to choose items you want to turn into crafting materials.
