How to Raise Faction Reputation

Complete Faction Quests

Outer Worlds 2 Faction Quests

Each faction in The Outer Worlds 2 has its own unique questline. Completing faction quests will increase your reputation, unlock new opportunities, and advance that faction’s storyline within the game.

Faction quests also give substantial XP and rewards that you might not get in main quests or the usual side quests, so they're definitely worth taking on.

Tips for Increasing Stats

Get Caught Stealing in Faction Territory

Outer Worlds 2 Stealing

If you’re caught stealing in a faction’s territory, your reputation with that faction will drop. If your reputation gets too low, they may even place a bounty on you. The more people witness you stealing, the higher your bounty will become.

Once the bounty reaches a certain level or price, members of that faction will start attacking you on sight until you're dead or the bounty is cleared.

Consequences of Stealing

Choose Negative Conversation Options With NPCs

Your interactions with faction-aligned NPCs can influence your reputation, depending on your dialogue choices. It’s best to choose conversation options that align with or favor the NPC’s interests if you want to maintain your faction reputation. Avoid selecting responses that oppose the NPC, as these can lower your reputation and potentially lock you out of certain opportunities within the faction.

Get the Face Reader Perk to Avoid Negative Conversation Options

Outer Worlds 2 Face Reader Perk

You can get the Face Reader perk to highlight dialogue options that reduce reputation with a faction and avoid them. Additionally, this perk also provides +20% damage against humans. To unlock Face Reader, you’ll need at least Observation Level 5.

What is Reputation?

Your Relationship with a Faction

Outer Worlds 2 Faction Reputation

Your reputation represents your standing or relationship with a faction. The lower your reputation, the fewer opportunities you’ll have with that faction and they may even place a bounty on you for their members to hunt you down.

On the other hand, the higher your reputation, the more the faction will trust you. This will unlock greater opportunities and faction effects, such as discounted prices at vending machines within their territory.
