|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() Travel to one of the newly-unlocked areas, Cloister. |
| 2 | Laplace's Garden is located south of the Landing Pad. Walk down the stairs of the Landing Pad and follow the snowy path down the mountain. Eventually, you'll reach Laplace's Garden Outskirts. Head for the entrance. Note: If Tristan is in your party, he won't be allowed inside Laplace's Garden unless you convince the guard with |
| 3 | ![]() You'll be greeted by Junior Seer Amaryllis by the entrance. She'll tell you that Artificer Laureate Enola Kraft is expecting you, and she can be found inside Belvedere Hall, the large building at the top of the staircase. Climb up the large staircase to reach the main courtyard of Belvedere Hall. |
| 4 | ![]() Vicar Laureate Levin will also be waiting for you at the courtyard if you saved the delegates during Fiends in High Places. Speaking to Levin is crucial in forming an alliance during An Equitable Arrangement. However, it is not required when siding with only one faction. |
| 5 | Proceed inside the building and head to the double doors by the stairs on the right. Speak to Laureate Enola Kraft by the table. To gain the Order's support, your first task is to deal with cultist in the settlement of Newton. It is located on the eastern part of Cloister. After accepting your task, fast travel to Laplace's Garden Outskirts and head east to Newton. Note: Consider taking Aza to Newton if you want a non-violent approach to removing the Glorious Dawn from the settlement. |
It's beneficial to bring Aza along only if you've finished her companion quest, Stabbing at Shadows. Aza can help in convincing the Dawn cultists to leave peacefully.
If you bring her before finishing her companion quests, the cultists immediately turn hostile as she is still branded a traitor.
Bringing Aza along will unlock a potential ending if she is reforming the Glorious Dawn, or has become their new leader.
| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() Newton is located on the eastern side of Cloister. From the Landing Pad, follow the roads eastward—or if you've already discovered it, you can fast travel to Spireton and head north east. Be ready to fight or run from the wildlife, Protectorate, and Scrappers scattered across the land. |
| 2 | ![]() As you near Newton, you will cross a bridge full of Protectorate Automechs. Fight your way through or sneak pass them, then cross the bridge and follow the road to the left towards the small valley. |
| 3 | ![]() The path here will be full of Mantipillars and Mantisaurs. Deal with them then walk straight until you reach a small open area. |
| 4 | ![]() You should see a bridge with a giant rift in the distance, head right towards the tunnel to reach Newton. |
| 5 | ![]() It is recommended to enter Newton through the south entrance as this gives you a chance to speak with the Dawn cultists. Otherwise, a side passage is available should you prefer to fight or sneak in. The cultists immediately turn hostile if you're spotted entering the side passage. Entering from the north entrance is viable as well, but you'll face a Mega Mantisaur on the way to Newton. |
| Option 1 | Option 2 |
|---|---|
| Convince the Dawn Cultists to Leave | Kill the Dawn Cultists |
There are two ways to get rid of the Glorious Dawn in Newton. Convince Hierarch Wolcott to leave peacefully, or eliminate all of the Dawn cultists. Both options do not change the outcome of the quest.
| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() As you approach Newton, you'll be stopped by a Dawn Acolyte. If you have the Rift Modulator, the Acolyte will call Hierarch Wolcott over. |
| 2 | ![]() Hierarch Wolcott won't be adamant in letting you pass through.
Failure to pass the skill checks will make the cultists hostile.
You'll have to convince him with either If Aza is with you, Wolcott recognizes her but it won't change the skill checks. |
| 3 | ![]() If Wolcott is convinced, he will lead you to the giant rift by the bridge to demonstrate the Rift Modulator. Stay close to Wolcott, or else he'll call the cultists to attack you. |
| 4 | ![]() When you reach the bridge, interact with the giant rift. Wolcott is surprised and demands you hand over the Rift Modulator.
Convince him to stand down by passing the If Aza is with you, and she is reforming the Glorious Dawn, the skill check is reduced to |
| 5 | ![]() Once Wolcott stands down, he commands the Glorious Dawn to clear out. You can continue exploring Newton, or return to Laureate Enola in Laplace's Garden to conclude the quest. |
| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() As you approach Newton, you can immediately attack the cultist standing guard at the front. This will alert all the other cultists in the area. If you bring Aza before finishing Stabbing at Shadows, the cultists immediately turns hostile as well. |
| 2 | If you prefer a stealthier approach, find the side passage near the settlement's entrance. It can be accessed by scaling the rocks and crouching through the hole. Be cautious as there is a cultist standing guard near the hole. |
| 3 | ![]() Eliminate all the cultists in Newton. Some of them are in the balcony and roofs, you can reach them by climbing the crates on the side of the houses, or using the stairs in the bar. |
| 4 | ![]() Once all the cultists are dead, you can opt to explore Newton, or return to Laureate Enola in Laplace's Garden to conclude the quest. |
To open the sealed door, follow along the large red wires from the door that lead up to the roof. Climb the crates on the side of the house, then walk across the platform to reach a detonator.
The detonator requires the following skill checks to activate:
Incendiary Chef perk |
The denotator will take ten seconds to trigger. Once the door is unsealed, you'll find a Pitchball Card: Kevin Lam by the cell, a Constable Armor set, a Blastproof Grenadier armor, and "The Worship What?" recording.

Report back to Laureate Enola Kraft to finish the quest. You will be rewarded with the N-Rage unique submachine gun, an Advanced Decryption Key, a Trauma Kit, and a Heavy Machine Gun.
Laureate Enola debriefs you on your next task in gaining the Order's favor. This starts Crash Course in Telemetry.
| Choices | Results |
|---|---|
| Convince the Dawn Cultists to Leave | ・This is a peaceful way to clear out the cultist from Newton.
・Requires the Rift Modulator. ・Requires passing two skill checks to convince Hierarch Wolcott to stand down. ・Aza can help in convincing Hierarch Wolcott if she became new leader of the Glorious Dawn, or if she's reforming it. |
| Kill the Dawn Cultists | ・Yields more XP and loot.
・This choice doesn't change the outcome or reward of the quest. |
Convincing Hierarch Wolcott to stand down requires passing two consecutive skill checks. You need to have at least Speech 11 or the Professor background to successfully dissuade Wolcott. Failing the skill checks will make the cultists hostile.
Neither choices do not change the outcome or rewards of the quest. However, Laureate Enola seems more pleased if the Dawn cultists are killed.
| Choices | Results |
|---|---|
| Bring Aza to Newton | ・Aza can help in convincing the Dawn cultist to leave if she became the new leader of the cult, or if she's reforming it after Stabbing at Shadows.
・Bringing Aza unlocks one of her endings. ・Bringing Aza before finishing her companion quests will make the Dawn cultists hostile immediately. |
| Do Not Bring Aza to Newton | ・You'll need to pass two skill checks to convince Hierarch Wolcott to stand down, or the cultists will attack. |
Bringing Aza along can help in convincing Hierarch Wolcott to stand down once he witnessed how you manipulated the rifts. However, to unlock this dialogue, Aza should be the new leader of the Dawn, or is in the process of reforming it after her companion quests.
Not bringing Aza requires you to pass two skill checks to convince Wolcott. The first skill check needs Speech 7 or the Professor background, while the second skill check requires Speech 11.
