How to Unlock Vanquishing the Vexing Vapors
Complete An Aegis Against the Miasma Side Quest
Right after completing the previous quest An Aegis Against the Miasma, Vanquishing the Vexing Vapors will be added to your journal. Speak to Marshal Donelson inside his office to start the side quest.

Head to the Primary Repair Hangar
With your new Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus, you should now be able to enter the Zyranium infested Primary Repair Hangar.
Take note that the Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus will deactivate after a few seconds or if the damage sustained from Zyranium exceeds the shield's capacity.
Find the Zyranium Flow Control System

| 1 | You have two options to find the Control System:
|
| 2 |  The next room you enter will be patrolled by hostile drones. Clear them out while taking care not to get exposed to too much Zyranium. Once the coast is clear, make your way over to the door leading into a room filled with Zyranium gas. |
| 3 |  Once you enter the room filled with Zyranium gas, immediately access the Control System and choose the following options:

| 4 | Once your done with the Control System, exit the room through the door to your right to start fixing the 2 reported leaks. |
Fix the First Leak
| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |
|---|---|
| 1 |  After choosing to query the conduit locations, open the door to your right. Defeat the Malfunctioning Dragoon Automech that appears. Once it's dead, vault over the set of boxes at the east side of the room to reach the upper levels. |
| 2 | Jump across the broken yellow pipes to reach a ledge with a ladder. Use the ladder to climb up to the second floor. From there, open the only door on this floor then turn right to find the first leak. |
| 3 |  Interact with the conduit (a switch on one of the walls) to fix the first leak. |
Fix the Second Leak
| Step-by-step Walkthrough | |
|---|---|
| 1 |  After fixing the first leak, turn around and open the door ahead.To reach the location of the second leak, you will have to perform various jumps across the building's roof. |
| 2 |  Vault over the set of boxes outside the door. |
| 3 |  Go through the Zyranium gas and vault over the pipes. Turn left afterwards. |
| 4 |  Jump over these boxes and go through the broken fence. |
| 5 |  Jump over the gap and go through another broken fence. Drop down and continue on the path forward. |
| 6 |  Once you see this location, drop down. Prepare your weapons as a Malfunctioning Dragoon Automech will be waiting below. |
| 7 |  After destroying the Automech, locate the door to the far right. This should lead you to the second leak. |
| 8 |  Interact with the nearby conduit to deal with the second leak. |
Shutdown the Flow of Zyranium
Once the second leak is fixed, use the nearby ladder to drop down into a small vent system. There should be an opening there that leads back into the room with the Zyranium Flow Control System. Interact with the terminal and choose the option, Initiate Zyranium Flow Shutdown to fully stop the gas leak.
Report Your Success to Marshal Donelson
After fixing the Zyranium leak, return to Marshal Donelson to report your success. Successfully completing this quest rewards you with a unique helmet named The Dose, a weapon add-on Repeating Rifle Explosive Rounds, and 1080 Quest Completion XP.
Pass an Engineering 3 Speech Check to Receive 350 Bits
If you are able to pass an Engineering 3 speech check when reporting back to Marshal Donelson, you will receive additional 350 Bits.
