The Gunslinger build revolves around going in loud and gunning down everything in your way using a variety of weaponry, including revolvers, marksman rifles, and more.
The best backgrounds the Gunslinger build is either Lawbringer or Renegade, which will depend on whether you want your character to be a law-abiding citizen or someone who skirts the law. These backgrounds will each have their own unique dialogue options, as well as the occasional skill check bypass.
| ・ +25% Crouch Speed ・ +25% Combat Sprint Speed |
|
| ・Death is prevented for 3s the first time you would have died each combat. |
For Positive Traits, we highly recommend Nimble and Resilient. Nimble allows you to move from cover to cover or dodge enemy attacks easily, thanks to its movement speed increase. Resilient, on the other hand, allows you to resist death once per fight, allowing you to heal up and keep fighting.
| Trait | Effect |
|---|---|
| ・During skill selection, lock 5 of the 12 available skills. Those skills can never have points added to them. |
As you will be picking two Positive Traits, you will also need to pick a Negative Trait. We highly recommend Dumb as it allows you to lock out five skills, preventing you from putting skill points into them.
Once you select Dumb, lock out Melee, Sneak, Explosives, Science, and Speech.
| Flaw | Positive Effect | Negative Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Overprepared | +50% Magazine Size | -40% Damage for 8s after a weapon's magazine hits empty. |
| Teetotaler | +25% Health restored by the Medical Inhaler | +25% Toxicity received from the Medical Inhaler |
| N-Radiated | Camouflaged: Invisible to enemies and deal bonus damage. Cooldown: 30s. | Whenever you take damage, there is a 5% chance you become Camouflaged automatically, but take an additional 5% of your max health as N-Ray damage. |
These are the Best Flaws to get for the Gunslinger Build. These skills provide effects that strengthen your ammo capacity, your Medical Inhaler efficacy, and a chance to hide from enemies. Their negative effects are either manageable or easy to play around.
| Specialized Skills | ||
|---|---|---|
As a Gunslinger Build, you will want skills that improve your weapon and weakpoint damage. Guns increase your Ranged Damage and Armor Penetration, while Observation increases your Weakspot Damage.
| Useful Skills | |||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Other than the Specialized skills, you will also need to take Engineering for Damage Resistance and some important perks, Hack and Lockpick for possible bypass paths, Medical for increased Toxicity Crash Threshold, and Leadership to improve your Companion's stats.

| 20 | High | |

| 5 | Low | |
| 5 | Low |
This includes the 58 Skill Points you get from leveling up to 30, as well as the 4 points you get from Specialized Skills
This Skill maximizes your damage output while still giving you decent survivability and providing bypass options. Prioritize getting Guns to at least 10 first, before improving both Observation and Engineering to 5.
Improve your Hack and Lockpick when needed, before continuing to add points based on the Skill priority.

| Weapons | Armor |
| Weapon | Mods |
|---|---|
| Oracle | ・Tracing Unit ・Prediction Optics |
| Death Sentence | ・Doom Counter ・Explosive Rounds ・Prism Sight |
| Rattler | ・Snake Shot |
The Gunslinger will revolve around three weapons: the Assault Rifle Oracle, the Marksman Rifle Death Sentence, and the Light Revolver Rattler. The Oracle locks onto enemies, with fired bullets curving to hit your target. When modded with the Tracing Unit, you can melt enemies quickly with help from your companions.
Death Sentence, on the other hand, applies a Doom Counter on enemies, which can deal extreme damage once it expires. Lastly, Rattler shoots shotshells instead of regular bullets, turning it into something closer to a revolver shotgun.
When modding the weapons, make sure to get Burst Rifle mods for the Oracle, and Repeating Rifle mods for the Death Sentence. Mods for both weapons are available at the Mods Vending Machine in the Free Market Station. Repeating Rifle mods are also available at the Mod vending machine in Fairfield on Paradise Island.

Manager's Tasking Hat
|
・Inspiring Authority ・Tutelary Impact Converter |
| Dead Man's Jacket | ・Corrosion Soak ・Spider Mines ・Energy-Woven Materials |
The Manager's Tasking Hat synergizes well with weapons that have the Tracing Unit, as not only do the marked targets receive more damage from companions, but they also deal less damage thanks to Inspiring Authority. Equip the Tutelary Impact Converter to convert the damage you take into Energy for your Gadgets.
As for the armor, the Dead Man's Jacket is your best bet, as you have a chance to release spider mines whenever you take damage. Additionally, when you get knocked out, you will drop several grenades around you, potentially damaging nearby enemies. Equip the Corrosion Soak mod on it to reduce the damage you take from Corrosive damage.
| Companion | Perks |

Tristan |
・Juggernaut ・Shield of the Law ・Zyranium Regeneration ・Aggressive Challenge ・Steeel Wall ・Groundshaker |
Marisol |
・Portable Capacitor Distributor ・Recharge Paralysis ・Elemental Weapon Specialist ・Shield Generator Reflector ・Linked Charge ・Energy Relay |
When running a Gunslinger build, bring along Tristan and Marisol as your Companions. Triistan will be the party's Tank, while Marisol will serve as the Support.
Tristan will Goad enemies into attacking him, making them leave cover and become easy targets. Marisol, on the other hand, will help you recover your Gadget energy, as well as convert all your attacks into Critical Hits whenever she uses her Companion Ability on an enemy.

The best gadgets for the Gunslinger build are the Tactical Time Dilation (TTD) Gadget and the Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus.
The TTD Gadget allows you to enter Tactical Time Dilation, slowing down time and allowing you to move and attack in relative safety. The Gas-Energy Deflection Apparatus, on the other hand, provides a shield that will help mitigate damage, some of which will reflect to your enemy thanks to Marisol's Shield Generator Reflector perk.
The Adreno Spume Boom Starter Plus is the best Inhaler for the Gunslinger as it provides both immediate healing to recover any damage you've taken, as well as healing over time that can help mitigate incoming damage for a duration.
Bio-Mass Grenades are the best throwable to use, as not only do they deal damage to your enemies, but they can also apply Vulnerable on your enemies, lowering their armor and eventually removing it completely. This allows you to deal even more damage to your enemies, especially fully-armored ones.
