Steal From Wild Pokemon

Magnet 		Pokemon FRLG - Magneton Magneton

You can obtain the Magnet by stealing it from a wild Pokemon that is holding the item. Use the Thief move during battle to take the held item directly.

Alternatively, you can catch the Pokemon and see if it is holding the Magnet afterward. However, it is much more efficient to just steal the item from them.
