Weaponsmithing is a trade skill in New World that allows you to craft various melee weapons and items in the Forge. This guide will show you how to power-level Weaponsmithing quickly from 0 to 200 and show a list of crafting recipes for all its items.
List of Contents
Weaponsmithing is a Trade Skill that allows players to make Longswords, Great Axes, War Hammers, Rapiers, Shields, and Honing Stones. To craft these items, players will have to visit the nearest Settlement and use its Forge. This is a vital skill since it allows players to craft better gear to help combat stronger enemies as they level up.
Read on for a step-by-step guide on how to level up the Weaponsmithing skill from 0 to 200 that will aid both new players and veterans of Aeternum.

At all Weapon tiers, the best type of Leather to craft would be Coarse Leather as this only requires Rawhide. These can be gathered from various kinds of animals.
The most convenient way to gather Rawhide is to hunt nearby Wolves outside a region's Settlement. Particular focus should be given to skinning Wolves at Wolf Dens. A good spot to do this would be Dankfur Hollow in Windsward.

For Tier 2 Metals, you'll need 792 Iron Ingots. These are crafted at the Smelter from Iron Ores. These can be easily mined from Iron Ore Veins usually found right outside a Settlement. A great example would be the Windsward Town Settlement in Windsward, which has several clusters of veins surrounding it. This would also keep you in the same region as the previous step.

At all weapon tiers, the easiest Refined Wood to craft would be Timber. These are crafted at the Woodshop from Green Wood. They can be gathered from Bushes or taken by chopping down any of the endless trees in the world, so there will be no shortage of these.

These early levels are the easiest stage of leveling the Weaponsmithing skill since all the materials are easily gatherable and you'll craft less equipment compared to later on.
Start by crafting 66 Iron War Hammers as this provides the most experience, at 204 Weaponsmithing XP, while still not needing too many materials. You'll also spend less time going through crafting and salvaging menus with this item compared to other weapons at this stage since you'll only need 66.

From Levels 50 to 200, the only required material that needs changing from Levels 0 to 50 are the Metals as each Weapon Tier also represents a jump in Metal Tier.
The Tier 3 Metal you'll be crafting for these levels will be Steel Ingots. These require Iron Ingots, Charcoal, and Flux. While this is a lengthier process than Levels 0 to 50, these materials are all easily gatherable. You can follow the Iron Ingot step the previous tier to help in gathering this material.

You may have more difficulty gathering Flux since it's mainly obtained from chests across Aeternum so you'll have to rely on a bit of luck.
They're common enough that it shouldn't take too long, but you could also choose to purchase them at a Trading Post instead. Another option would be to use a Common Material Converter. The easiest type of Flux to obtain would be the Sand Flux.
At all Weapon tiers, the best type of Leather to craft would be Coarse Leather as this only requires Rawhide. While this process doesn't change in terms of difficulty, it will take longer to complete due to the increased quantity needed.
As with the previous tier, hunt nearby Wolves outside a region's Settlement to accumulate Rawhide quickly. Focus on skinning Wolves at Wolf Dens due to their large number and quick respawn time.

Once you've hit 50, immediately proceed to gather all the materials needed for the next stage of weapons as there's a big jump in XP gained at this point.
Crafting 314 Steel Rapiers is the simplest way to get to 100 quickly, as it gives 495 Weaponsmithing XP while needing fewer required materials for crafting compared to other items at its level.

From Levels 50 to 200, the only required material that needs changing from Levels 0 to 50 are the Metals as each Weapon Tier also represents a jump in Metal Tier.
The Tier 4 Metal you'll be crafting for these levels will be Starmetal Ingots. While the recipe is nearly the same as when crafting Steel Ingots, the added requirement of Starmetal Ores will lengthen the time it'll take to craft these.

Starmetal Ores are mined from Starmetal Ore Veins. You'll need to have reached at least Level 100 in Mining to successfully gather this. They're usually found in mountainous areas, and the regions they're most abundant in are Great Cleave and Mourningdale.
Outlined area in Mourningdale contains both Starmetal Ore Veins and numerous Wolves

Since you'll be mining for Starmetal Ores in Mourningdale, the crafting process at this tier will be quicker if you hunt Wolves in the same region. There is an area right outside the region's Settlement, to its north, wherein you'll find a large cluster of both Starmetal Ore Veins in a mountanous place and Wolves roaming nearby.

Gather as much Green Wood as possible before returning to your Settlement. It's best to focus on one material at a time, so once you fill up your inventory with one material, you can place it in your Storage first, then proceed to gather the next.

Levels 100 to 150 may take some grinding to accomplish, as the materials needed continue to increase in amount needed and their rarities.
Crafting 502 Starmetal Kite Shields will provide a decent amount of experience at 2184 Weaponsmithing XP, and won't need too many materials compared to other weapons at their tier. They only need 10 Tier 4 Metals, which should be fairly doable. As a result, this proves to be the most efficient way to reach level 150.

Weaponsmithing Lv. 100
Forge Tier 4 |
From Levels 50 to 200, the only required material that needs changing from Levels 0 to 50 are the Metals as each Weapon Tier also represents a jump in Metal Tier.
The Tier 5 Metal you'll be crafting for these levels will be Orichalcum Ingots. You can use previous steps on crafting Starmetal Ingots, crafting Charcoal, and gathering Flux to gather the majority of its required materials.
Gathering Orichalcum Ores will take up most of your time at this tier, due to its rarity and the abundant amount of it you'll need.

Orichalcum Ores are mined from Orichalcum Ore Veins. To mine these, you'll need at least Level 175 in Mining. While rarer than other metals, they're easily noticeable due to their bright red glow. They're most commonly found in Great Cleave and Ebonscale Reach.
Outlined area in Ebonscale Reach contains both Orichalcum Ore Veins and numerous Wolves
At all Weapon tiers, the best type of Leather to craft would be Coarse Leather as this only requires Rawhide.
As with the previous tier, hunt Wolves at Wolf Dens, particularly those near Settlements, to accumulate Rawhide quickly.
In order to speed up gathering materials at these levels, you can also hunt for wolves in Ebonscale Reach since this will be the same region you'll be mining Orichalcum Ores in. Luckily, there is a cluster of Orichalcum Ore veins in between Palewind Terrace and Skysong Lagoon that is surrounded by wolves.
To speed up this process, you can also equip an item with the Tanner's Burden perk since this reduces the weight of Rawhide by 5%.

Leveling from 150 to 200 is mostly dependent on how quickly you can acquire the necessary materials since they're more difficult to acquire. It's highly recommended to craft 557 Orichalcum War Hammers. There's a big jump in experience earned at 10080 Weaponsmithing XP and you'll spend a lot less time salvaging each item you craft since you'll only need 557.
The major issue is that it needs a significant number of materials, particularly the requirement of 15 Tier 5 Metals, which can be difficult to gather in large amounts.

Weaponsmithing Lv. 150
Forge Tier 5 |
The best way to speed up leveling your Weaponsmithing is through upgrading Tools used for gathering materials, especially Pickaxes. By having better gathering equipment, you can accumulate required materials much quicker and at greater amounts. This means you'll spend less time going to and from Settlements looking for places to harvest.
If you've decided to stick to using a certain weapon, you can choose to solely bulk create your chosen weapon in order to both increase your Weaponsmithing XP and have great options to use in combat. It can be wasteful to endlessly salvage weapons you won't end up using since they could have high gear scores.
Tier 1 items like the Wood Longsword will not give trade skill EXP. Do not waste your resources bulk crafting this cheap items as they do not give you anything! In addition, weapons you pick up from quests or even just random drops from enemies will be much better than weapons at this tier.
Salvage any unwanted weapons as Tier 2 and above items will return a portion of the primary material as well as repair parts when you do. This saves you from having to re-farm and refine a lot of the more tedious resources such as metal ingots. You'll also be able to reuse these materials for more crafting.
Proficiency Boosters will allow you to gather even more materials from ores, animals, and trees, letting you reach whatever amount you need much quicker. These Boosters increase the amount of resources obtained using tools, so this will also benefit your other Trade Skills.
When crafting, players can add Special Resources that grant weapons and shields with different perks. Adding them will guarantee that the weapon/shield will have a perk. Consider this if you want to have specific bonuses for your current character build.
Additionally, players can also use Azoth when crafting items as this grants an increased chance to give the item bonus attributes, perks, or gem slots. Do note that the amount of Azoth you can add will vary depending on the item's initial gear score.
While trying to level up Weaponsmithing, you'll be spending majority of your time at Crafting Stations, refining materials and crafting new items. If you're not crafting items, you're probably spending time purchasing them at the Trading Post instead. These expenses will stack up after some time, so it's best to do these activities in Settlements with low taxes to make the most of your gold.
Keep in mind, however, that you'll still need the correct station tier to craft high-level weapons.
While Levels 0 to 50 should be fairly easy to complete, the next three stages will take longer due to the time it will take to gather all the materials. If you're willing to part with your gold, however, you can speed up this process by purchasing required materials at the Trading Post instead.
Keep in mind that buying everything will set you back quite a lot, so only do this if you won't need the gold for other purposes.
