Craft Flint Tools at the Starter Beach

New World - Craft Flint Tools at the Starter Beach

Flint Tools can be crafted immediately upon landing in any one of the starting beaches. Collect Flint and Green Wood (from bushes), then head to the Watchtower where you can craft your first set of flint tools at the campfire.

The Wooden Fishing Pole will be harder to get resources for. You'll need to head inland, past the starter beach, and gather Fiber from Hemp Plants to craft your first fishing pole.

New World - Craft at a Camp or Workshop

Alternatively, you can opt to head to the nearest settlement's Workshop or unlock your very own campfire via the main quest, to craft Flint Tools. Simply open up the crafting menu and select the tools you wish to craft.

Flint Mining Pick iconFlint Mining Pick 1-Handed. A makeshift but functional Mining Pick. Used to gather boulders and ore veins, albeit slowly.
Flint Harvesting Sickle iconFlint Harvesting Sickle 1-Handed. A makeshift Harvesting Sickle. Used to gather most plants, albeit slowly.
Flint Logging Axe iconFlint Logging Axe 1-Handed. A makeshift but functional Logging Axe. Used to gather trees, albeit slowly.
Flint Skinning Knife iconFlint Skinning Knife 1-Handed. A makeshift but functional Skinning Knife. Used to field dress most animals, albeit slowly.
Wooden Fishing Pole iconWooden Fishing Pole 2-Handed. Gathers fish from open water and fishing hotspots.
