As mentioned previously, while it's not subscription-based, you will still need to make a one-time purchase to play New World. The game can be bought from either Steam or Amazon.
New World is available for purchase for PC and comes in three editions.

Additional content like expansion packs for New World which will be added at a later time could perhaps require the player to spend extra money. However, at the time of this article, no official information has been shared regarding whether or not this will cost extra.
While New World is not free to purchase, you won't need to pay a monthly subscription to keep playing the game either. Players will be glad to hear that they only need to buy the game once to enjoy the full MMO experience that New World offers.
It has been confirmed that the in-game shop of New World will make use of a premium currency that will require players to spend money.
If you are worried about New World being Pay to Win, then fear not, as the official Twitter account for New World has stated that store items will not be necessary to enjoy the game and will all be purely cosmetic in nature.
