List of Contents
Life Staff ► Sword and Shield ► Great Axe |
|
Spear ► War Hammer |
|
Rapier ► Hatchet ► Fire Staff ► Ice Gauntlet |
|
Musket ► Bow |
Life Staff | Life Staff is an amazing weapon as it allows you to sustain yourself for free during your journey and it also allows you to support other players if you do wish to group up to tackle challenges. |
---|---|
Sword and Shield | Sword and Shield are light on their tracks, has a good amount of range on its attacks and skills, and it is also pretty durable with defensive skill bonuses. An ideal starter weapon for the player to use while getting used to the game. |
Great Axe | Great Axe is not the best PvP weapon around. But if your focus is on challenging the PvE contents of the game, Great Axe will prove effective not just on the early stages of the game but even further as you go on your journey! |
Spear | The Spear is a decent weapon for both PvP and PvE. There are other weapons that are more specialized on one aspect more than the other but the Spear's balance makes it a great training ground for you to use before deciding on what path to specialize in. It also scales with both Strength and Dexterity allowing you to be flexible with your primary/secondary weapon. |
---|---|
War Hammer | War Hammer is a weapon that is focused on CC and tanking. It's slow on its tracks but it can disrupt enemy positioning if played properly. |
Rapier | The Rapier is one of the more difficult weapon to use. It is only placed on the B tier as a sub-optimal starter weapon due to its Dexterity scaling and Intelligence scaling which allows it to partner with nearly all non-tank weapons in the game but if you're looking for an easy weapon to use, it is best to stay away from the Rapier until you get more experience in playing New World. |
---|---|
Hatchet | The Hatchet is a strong melee weapon that can be played as a ranged weapon too. It's focused on buffing yourself and inflicting debuffs on enemies which makes it a great weapon for PvP. It is a tad bit difficult to use due to the weapon losing its guard ability in favor of its throwing skill. |
Fire Staff | The Fire Staff is a ranged weapon that can cause AoE damage via its spells. Its a strong weapon but its stat compatibiltiy being funneled to Intelligence makes it unflexible. |
Ice Gauntlet | Similar to the Fire Staff, the Ice Gauntlet is also centered around the Intelligence stat. Unlike the Fire Staff however, it is focused on inflicting slows and debuffs instead of damage. |
Musket
Bow |
Both ranged physical weapons are placed in the C-tier due to the player's inability to craft the required ammunation for both weapons. Avoid focusing on both weapons until you gain the consistent ability to farm the materials to craft the necessary ammunation for your chosen ranged weapon. |
