New World - How to Track Resources
This guide will explain how to track resources in New World. Read on to know how to easily locate the resources you need, and see a list of all trackable resources.

How to Track Resources

There are a variety of resources you can track in New World. As an initially available feature, you can have a general overview of which resources appear on certain types of environment by pressing M to open your map, then clicking on Resource Locations on the left side.

Resource Derivations

Once you've obtained a certain of type of resource, you can also check the item itself on your Inventory by pressing Tab and hovering over the specific item. Doing so will allow you to determine where the resource is derived from, giving you an idea on where or how to gather them.

Resources That Can Be Tracked

By pressing K and clicking on the Trade Skills tab, you'll be able to see the level of your Trade Skills. Resources that can be tracked are found under Gathering. Clicking on a specific skill will show you the resources that are trackable at certain levels.

Level Requirements

Gathering Skill Minimum Level for Tracking
Logging Lv. 125
Harvesting Lv. 20
Mining Lv. 25
Tracking and Skinning Lv. 25
Fishing Lv. 2

Note: Logging starts at a higher level, likely because the common trees or wood resources are literally found almost everywhere you go and aren't trackable.

Check Your Compass for Icons

Once you've met the minimum level requirement for a specific Gathering skill, certain types of resources will be available for tracking. You'll be able to see them on your compass at the top of the screen as icons that move in real time (if they're animals).
