Steel Tools can only be crafted if a settlement has a Tier 3 Workshop and if the player is at Engineering Level 50. If the requirements are met, bring your resources to the Workshop to make your own set of Steel Tools.

Steel Ingots will need to be smelted using the recipe below. Head to points of interest on the map and collect Sand Flux from supply caches and chests as this is the hardest to collect out of the three.

Note: You can use any type of flux material when smelting steel ingots. However, it would be a waste to use high-tier flux material for only Tier 3 Steel.

Players with low crafting levels can instead opt to buy a set of Steel Tools from a settlement's Trading Post. Browse through the available listings and purchase tools that are appropriate for your level and budget.
