List of Contents
Woodworking is a Trade Skill that allows players to craft raw wood into refined planks. This is a vital skill since these refined resources are then used to craft higher-tier weapons and armor. To craft these items, players will have to visit the nearest Settlement and use its Woodshop.
Read on for a step-by-step guide on how to level up the Woodworking skill from 0 to 200 that will aid both new players and veterans of Aeternum.

For Levels 0 to 50, the only resource you'll need to gather is Green Wood, which can be obtained by logging Young Trees or from Bushes.
It's best to just focus on gathering these from Young Trees, however, since they give more resources and you'll increase your Logging at the same time. Logging will be needed to gather resources at later levels from high-tier trees.
To speed up the process of leveling Woodworking, it's recommended that you log primarily in Windsward. This is because Windsward has enough resources that you won't have to leave it until you're at Woodworking Level 150.
Young Trees: Locations and Maps
Once you've gathered enough Green Wood, head to your Settlement's Woodshop and start crafting 391 Timber. For each piece of timber crafted, you're given 36 Woodworking XP. This process should be easy to finish due to how abundant Green Wood is.

For Woodworking Levels 50 to 200, Sandpaper will be a required resource. While you can use other types of Sandpaper, if you're mainly focusing on leveling Woodworking, you can choose to primarily gather Coarse Sandpaper. It's the easiest to obtain and has no difference in experience gained compared to higher-tier Sandpaper.
Sandpaper can be obtained from chests and containers all over Aeternum, but you'll have to rely on chance with this process. The best way to gather as much Sandpaper as possible is through purchasing them at a Trading Post.

You should still have Timber left from crafting for Levels 0 to 50, so this step shouldn't take too long. You can simply repeat the process of the previous tier to craft this amount, or purchase these at a Trading Post, They always have a very low cost, so you can easily buy them in bulk.

In order to gather Aged Wood, you'll need to cut down Mature Trees. These are accessible once you reach Logging Level 50. These will be easy to find since they're always in the same area as Young Trees, so you can just stay in the same area you'd been logging at previously.
Once you've obtained the above resources, head to your Settlement's Woodshop and begin bulk crafting 575 Lumber. Each piece of Lumber will give 266 Woodworking XP, which is a big jump from the previous tier. While these levels will take longer due to the increased amount of resources needed, it should still be a straightforward process since the required resources are fairly accessible.

The process for gathering Sandpaper at this tier will be the same as with the previous levels. But while it will be easier to just purchase these at a Trading Post in bulk, the increased amount needed means it will cost more to purchase everything. Make sure to look for chests whenever possible, especially when clearing villages infested with enemies since these will always have a lot of gatherable Sandpaper.

You can use the same process of crafting Lumber from Levels 50 to 100. To make leveling at this tier more efficient, it's recommended that you continue logging in Windsward to make use of a logging trail that will net you both Mature Trees and Wyrdwood Trees. This will speed up leveling at this tier immensely due to how you can gather large amounts of resources quickly.

Wyrdwood is gathered from Wyrdwood Trees that require Logging Level 150 to cut down. These trees are rare compared to Mature and Young Trees, and they'll have specific spawn points in certain areas of a region rather than being found all over.
The best way to gather these quickly is by having a repeatable trail to follow that will allow you to go to various Wyrdwood Tree spawn points. The best example would be the Windsward Logging Trail as it's easy to follow and is accessible even at lower levels.
Wyrdwood Trees: Locations and Maps
There are two spawn points of Wyrdwood Trees near Windsward's Settlement. This opens up a trail to follow that will allow you to gather a lot of resources efficiently.
Starting from the Settlement, proceed to the Wyrdwood Trees spawn point to its south. Once you've cleared this area, you can continue to the spawn point to the Settlement's east. Along the way, cut down any trees you come upon to also gather planks from Young and Mature Trees. Once you've cleared the second area and returned to the Settlement, trees in the first area will have respawned. At this point, you can choose to drop off all the resources you've gathered to your storage and continue logging until you have enough, or you can start crafting Wyrdwood Planks.
Once you've gathered all the above resources, proceed to crafting 713 Wyrdwood Planks. It's best to just focus on crafting these if you want to level your Woodworking quickly since they give out 1665 Woodworking XP for each plank crafted, a huge jump from the previous tiers.
The experience given by Lumber and Timber will be negligible compared to just crafting these.

Where to Find Wyrdwood Planks and How to Use
As with the previous levels, the easiest way to gather Sandpaper is through purchasing them at the Trading Post. However, the amount required at this tier may make that option unfeasible. Sandpaper gathered from chests will become all the more vital as a result.
Another option to take would be to craft Sandpaper by using the refining recipe of a Material Converter and Tier 3 Refining Materials. Examples of Tier 3 Refining Materials that are easily found are Tannin and Weak Solvents. This allows you to use other materials gathered from the world and convert them into Sandpaper.

For gathering Wyrdwood and crafting Wyrdwood Planks at this stage, it's recommended that you leave Windsward and instead begin logging in Edengrove. This is to make the process of gathering the main recipe at this tier, Ironwood, easier since this is more abundant in Edengrove compared to Windsward.
Thankfully, there are several spawn points for Wyrdwood in this region, though the clusters are scattered. It's best to start at the spawn points towards the south of the region since this is near the Settlement.

Where to Find Wyrdwood Planks and How to Use
Ironwood is gathered from Ironwood Trees that can be cut down once you reach Logging Level 150. These trees are rarely found in low-level areas, so make sure your overall level is high enough that you can safely log in high-level regions without getting easily killed by enemies there. They have a similarly lengthy respawn time as Wyrdwood Trees so make sure you ceate a trail to follown order to have a more efficient time logging.
Ironwood Trees: Locations and Maps
While Woodworking Levels 0 to 150 should be done in Windsward, you'll have to go to Edengrove for this final tier as this is the best place to gather Ironwood Trees.
This is because there are several clusters near the Settlement that are all close together, so by the time you clear the areas and return to your Settlement, they'll have begun to respawn.
Ironwood Planks will be the final resource you'll need to craft to reach Level 200. Once you've reached Level 150, make sure to focus on primarily crafting these since they give out enormous experience at 8470 Woodworking XP per plank.
Due to this significant bump in experience, the process of gathering the necessary resources for this will also be much lengthier. Crafting enough Wyrdwood Planks and gathering enough Ironwood will take up most of your time, so make use of possible bonuses or boosts such as perks to aid your leveling.

A good way to speed up leveling Woodworking is to equip items with Logging or Woodworking Perks. Particularly helpful perks would be Woodworking Accumulation, which provides 2% more yield when woodworking, and Logging Yield, which provides 10% more resources gathered.
These two will be vital especially at later levels in Woodworking when you'll need abundant amounts of resources since they both give an increased amount when crafting or gathering.
Logging Efficiency | Logging speed increased by 5% - 25% |
---|---|
Reinforced Logging Luck | While Logging, gain 2% chance at finding rare items. |
Lumberjack's Discipline | Gain 3% more logging experience. |
Woodworking Accumulation | 2% increase yield when woodworking. |
Adored Logging Luck | While Logging, gain 5% chance at finding rare items. |
Lumberjack's Burden | Reduce the weight of wood, timber, and logging axes by 5%. |
Logging Yield | Logging yields 10% more resources. |
Logging Luck | While logging, gain 2% chance at finding rare items. |
Logging Efficiency | Logging speed increased by 5% - 25% |
Woodworking and Logging are linked Trade Skills, and your success with one generally determines your success with the other. By leveling this at the same time as your Woodworking, you'll be able to immediately start gathering materials, such as Aged Wood, that will be used for refining.
Speed up your gathering time by upgrading your Logging Axe as soon as possible. While the Flint Logging Axe can be serviceable, it won't be enough if you're trying to quickly increase your Woodworking levels. Using at least an Iron Logging Axe will be enough to reach higher levels in Woodworking before you'll need to upgrade it.

You can purchase the materials you want to refine or craft from the Trading Post. While this is the quickest path to take to level up your Woodworking since you won't even need to leave your Settlement, your pockets might hurt depending on the amounts you choose to buy.
As you gain Territory Standing, you will be given the choice to pick a Territory Standing Bonus at level up. Choose the Gathering Speed bonus to make gathering resources quicker in the regions you're in. These will be especially helpful when you're staying in a region like Windsward for extended periods.
Proficiency Boosters will allow you to gather even more wood from trees, letting you reach whatever amount you need much quicker. These Boosters increase the number of resources obtained using tools, so this will also benefit your other Trade Skills.
