This is a guide on how to play the Open Beta of New World for PC, which ran from September 9, 2021 to September 12, 2021. Read on to learn how players gained access into the Open Beta, exact times when servers went online, system requirements for New World, FAQs and more!

Players were able to request access to the open beta from September 8, at 7:00 AM PT (2:00 PM UTC) via the New World Steam Page.
It should be noted that anyone who requested access was able to play the open beta. The open beta was free to play and did not require players to have pre-purchased New World in order to sign up for it.
The New World open beta started and ended on the following dates and times.

Please note that player progress in the Open Beta will not carry over when the game launches on September 28, 2021. All data will be wiped prior to launch.
New World's Open Beta ran on a patch that introduced sweeping changes in four aspects of the game:

The Open Beta had servers up in select regions. The regions with servers are Central Europe, North America West, North America East, South America, and Australia.
New World Server List
Like in Closed Beta, player progress during Open Beta will not carry over when launch day comes around. Progress will be wiped when the Open Beta ends on September 12.
Yes. Returning players will need to download a newer version of New World via the New World Steam Page in order to access the Open Beta.
While the developers have stated that server population will still not be at full capacity, Open Beta will have a higher server capacity compared to the Closed Beta.
Expect to be hit with server queues and wait times when entering high population servers during the beta.
The Open Beta will be available in the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Brazilian Portuguese.
As of the writing of this article, the developers have not yet stated whether there will be more localizations available on final release.
Yes. The developers are still allowing players to use their captured footage to create content, post, and talk about New World. You will also be allowed to stream the game for the entire duration of Open Beta.
