New World's official release is right around the corner. For players who weren't able to participate in the Open Beta, good news! New World will finally have its global release on September 28, 2021.

Will Open Beta Progress Carry Over to Launch?

Like in Closed Beta, player progress during Open Beta will not carry over when launch day comes around. Progress will be wiped when the Open Beta ends on September 12.

Will I Need to Re-Download New World for Open Beta?

Yes. Returning players will need to download a newer version of New World via the New World Steam Page in order to access the Open Beta.

Will New World Open Beta Have Higher Server Capacity?

While the developers have stated that server population will still not be at full capacity, Open Beta will have a higher server capacity compared to the Closed Beta.

Expect to be hit with server queues and wait times when entering high population servers during the beta.

What Languages is the Open Beta Available In?

The Open Beta will be available in the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, and Brazilian Portuguese.

As of the writing of this article, the developers have not yet stated whether there will be more localizations available on final release.

Can Players Create Content using Open Beta?

Yes. The developers are still allowing players to use their captured footage to create content, post, and talk about New World. You will also be allowed to stream the game for the entire duration of Open Beta.

What are the Differences Between Open Beta and Closed Beta?
