Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date and Time
TBA, but Projected to Release in 2028
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released in 2011 and became a global phenomenon still played by many to this day. Since then, fans have been waiting patiently for the sequel. However, it’s been ages since 2011 and all we ever got was a 30-second-long announcement trailer. Skyrim fans are running out of patience.
Sadly, there’s still a long way to go. In late 2023, Pete Hines, the Bethesda head of publishing, confirmed in an interview with Vandal that The Elder Scrolls 6 is still in its “early development” stages. He warned against fans hastily expecting any substantial updates or release information in the near future. Moreover, Bethesda is making Elder Scrolls 6 with longevity and replayability in mind, much like its uber-successful predecessor. The problem is that Bethesda’s focus would somewhat be split between Starfield’s live-service continuity and The Elder Scrolls 6. Finally, during last year’s Microsoft FTC trial, Xbox's Phil Spencer said that The Elder Scrolls 6 was at least five years out. One thing’s certain, not one Elder Scrolls fan thought they’d have to wait 17 years for a sequel.
