Safety should always be any player's top priority when playing a game, including Pokemon Sleep! Learn ways on how to stay safe and healthy by taking a look at our safety tips here!
List of Contents
Pokemon Sleep's gameplay is heavily reliant on a thing that living beings need: sleep. However, a lot of Pokemon connoisseurs may feel inclined to modify their sleeping habits for the sake of acquiring new Pokemon, which may lead to health repercussions.
It goes without saying that safety should be the number one priority when it comes to playing any game. Keeping your sleep habits in check when playing Pokemon Sleep is key to getting the most out of it!
Some players may try to sacrifice their sleep just to get new Pokemon or raise their Snorlax to increase the number of different species they can potentially encounter. Some might just be taken by the excitement of a new Pokemon game.
As sweet as that may seem, players are encouraged to get as much rest as possible. We are fairly certain that even your Pokemon wouldn't want you deprived of a good night's rest!
Players may also set alarms at unreasonable intervals just to meet Sleep Type conditions, such as the Dozing Sleep Type.
While this may seem harmless the first few times, disturbed sleep can lead to detrimental results in terms of brain function and overall health. Sleep as you normally would and all Sleep Types will be acquired eventually.
One alternative to this is to aim for a Balanced Sleep Type. This is a mix of Snoozing, Dozing and Slumbering Sleep Patterns, resulting in a mix of these Pokemon appearing!
How to Do the Balanced Sleep Type Pattern
Pokemon Sleep highly recommends that you keep your phone plugged in while you sleep so as to prevent it from draining in the middle of recording a Sleep Session. However, this could pose a serious threat if you're not cautious.
Your device may overheat and, worst case scenario, explode if you're not careful.
The New York Fire Department has even stated that keeping your phone charged overnight and next to you on your bed is a fire hazard.
To reduce the risk of fires or explosions, it might be a better idea to charge your phone completely before starting a Sleep Session. Pokemon Sleep doesn't consume too much of your phone's battery anyway (as long as your battery is still healthy), so you should be able to complete a full night's Sleep Session.
Instead of having your phone directly plugged into your power socket overnight, try using a power bank. That way, you can ensure that your device lasts throughout the night while preventing risks of overcharging.
When tracking your sleep, the app advises you to keep your phone face-down to shut the screen off and conserve power. This is also a good idea since screen time contributes largely to increasing your device's temperature.
Additionally, keep your phone out from under pillows and blankets whenever you're sleeping to give it proper ventilation.
While a bit of an expensive alternative, the Pokemon GO Plus+ is safer to use than a plugged in phone. It was built to be used for Pokemon Sleep, and you can even have Pikachu sing you lullabies.
A trait of a good player is the proper management of resources, may they be in-game or real life. Some may be inclined to spend as much of their resources as possible to get the best out of the game, but please keep it within reason.

Biscuit Guide: Befriend Pokemon Without Making Them Full
Pokemon Sleep has 3 Sleep Types, namely the Slumbering, Snoozing, and the Dozing Type. A fourth one called the Balanced Sleep Type is a combination of all three. Each Sleep Type comes with different conditions to be met.
Instead of sacrificing your health outright to meet the conditions of these Sleep Types, be sure to prepare accordingly when going for any of them. Hydrate whenever you can, and or plan your bedtime properly to maintain healthy sleeping habits.

1. Match Your Bedtime with Your Schedule 2. Maintain Sleep Schedule Even on Weekends 3. Lifestyle Adjustments to Improve Your Sleep |
It is understandable that people have differing schedules. Some may work morning shifts from 9AM to 5PM, and some may work graveyard shifts that go overnight.
If your daily schedule is unconventional, be sure to align your bedtime with it in order to ascertain the best time to use Pokemon Sleep. This will also benefit your gameplay because you need to set your bed time in-game.
Some people may think that just because tomorrow's a weekend, it's okay to pull an all-nighter tonight. While that can mean making the most out of the free time that you're going to get, it may lead to the disruption of your sleep schedule.
As much as possible, try to maintain your sleep schedule even on your days off. Not only will it keep you healthy in general, it will also keep you from missing out on your Pokemon Sleep routine!
We also have to notice and acknowledge our lifestyle habits, especially when it affects our sleep and many other basic bodily functions.
For example, if you find yourself drinking too much coffee, consuming too much sugar, or pulling all-nighters either for study or work, it might be best to adjust these habits little by little in order to fall asleep easier and get better sleep quality.
