When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Brave Edelgard are +Atk and -Spd. An +Atk IV will enable her to deal more damge with each attack. Her Spd is already low and it isn't really important for her so it is safe to take as a bane. Her exclusive skill, Black Eagle Rule, takes care of scoring follow-up attacks for her.
We recommend a +Atk IV if merging Edelgard to 10. This is for the same reasons as above Having a +IV in Atk maximizes the damage you can do with a guaranteed follow-up attack.
If you plan to use Edelgard as a defense unit in Aether Raids or a magic unit baiter-counterattacker, you can go for a +Res IV instead.

Brave Edelgard is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Flower Hauteclere grants Brave Edelgard an extra space of movement if her HP is at least 25% at the start of the turn. It also grants the ability to move to a space adjacent to any ally within 2 spaces. This negates one of the biggest weakness of an armored unit—limited mobility. The trigger condition is very easy to meet as well. This means you will enjoy amazing mobility most of the time.

For offensive effects, Flower Hautclere accelerates Edelgard's special trigger and inflicts -6 Atk/Def on foe during combat if she is atleast at 25% HP.
Edelgard scores a follow-up atack on Plumeria without outspeeding her.
If Brave Edelgard is atleast at 25% HP, she scores guaranteed follow-up attacks and reduces the damage of enemy follow-up attacks by 80%. It is then a must to keep Brave Edelgard at least 25% HP to keep both Flower Hauteclere and Black Eagle Rule online.
Brave Edelgard's A skill, Distant Ward, allows her to counterattack a magic attack regardless of range. Additionally, she gains Atk/Res+5 when a magic foe initiates combat, making her exceptional at tanking and countering magic attackers.

This synergizes well with the effects of Black Eagle Rule and Joint Drive Res. It makes Brave Edelgard a magic user's nightmare.
One of the main drawbacks of armored units is their limited movement. Flower Hauteclere solves this, but keep in mind that the extra space of movement and the warp effect is disabled when going below 25% HP. Have a protocol for recovering Edelgard's health when running her on the field.
The effects of Black Eagle Rule also depends on Edelgard having above 25% HP. She will lose lots of mobility, offense and defense when she drops below that threshold. At that point, she is but another axe unit on the field.
Brave Edelgard's stats are very min-maxed and the stat that gets the short end of the stick is her Spd stat which sits at a base 16. In the offensive end, this does not matter that much as she can guarantee follow-up attacks with Black Eagle Rule, but she will constantly get hit by follow-up attacks. Though Black Eagle Rule reduces damage as discussed, follow-up attacks makes it easy for opponents to launch Specials so watch out for that.
Additionally, because she relies on a skill to score follow-up attacks, she is countered by units running Null Follow-Up 3.
Brave Edelgard takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Armorslayer+, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Brave Edelgard can fit in any team due to her mobility. She can fit well in all armor teams, effectively standing as a shield wall against enemy units.
Flying dancers that possess Guidance 3 can help Brave Edelgard reach even further across the map, setting up surprise attacks.
This can be used to devastating effect if she has two dancers on her team, granting her additional turns to take out enemy units.

Armor-effective weapons do 1.5x more damage to your unit's target, so your units will have more opportunities to one-shot as opposed to other weapons.
Units that have Armorsmasher+ will do well against Brave Edelgard and potentially one-shot her.
Red magic units have weapon triangle-advantage over Brave Edelgard.
It also helps if they're using Triangle Adept 3 to further boost their damage.
