What Kind of Character Are They? | ・A Fire-type Legendary Hero ・An armored unit with Distant Counter ・Can prevent follow-up attacks when HP reaches a certain threshold |
Might: 16 Range: 1 Grants Def+3. If the number of allies within 2 spaces (excluding unit) > the number of foes within 2 spaces (excluding target), foe cannot make a follow-up attack. |
Cooldown Count = 3 Boosts Atk by 30%. |
Enables unit to counterattack regardless of distance to attacker. |
If unit's HP ≥ 25% and foe initiates combat, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack and inflicts Special cooldown charge -1 on foe per attack. (Only highest value applied. Does not stack.) |
At start of turn, grants Def/Res+6 to unit and allies for one turn, and also, if any unit or ally's Special cooldown count is at its maximum value, grants them Special cooldown count-1. All effects granted only if the number of that unit or ally's movement type on the current team is ≤ 2. |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (23) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Atk (26) | ★★★★★ | |
Spd (6) | ★★☆☆☆ | |
Def (15) | ★★★★☆ | |
Res (4) | ★★★☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for L!Hector are +Atk and -HP. A higher Atk stat allows L!Hector deal more damage as he gains +4 Atk from having a boon in that stat. It is better to have a bane in HP rather than Spd to avoid follow-up attacks, lessening Hector's reliance on the effects of Thunder Armads
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging L!Hector to 10. With a +Atk IV, L!Hector's Atk stat will reach 64 with 10 merges, which makes it easier to one shot foes. You can also opt for a +Res base if you want a L!Hector that is a better all around tank.

This is a Near Save build meant for Hector to protect his allies by taking melee attacks for the team. The most common use for this build in Aether Raids is for a corner armor ball strategy. Sturdy Stance 3 provides a Guard effect while Slick Fighter grants an automatic follow-up attack and negates penalties on Hector.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: 3 Grants Def+3. If unit is within 3 spaces of an ally, inflicts Atk/Def-5 on foe during combat and foe cannot make a follow-up attack. If foe initiates combat or if foe's HP ≥ 75% at start of combat, inflicts Atk/Def-5 on foe during combat and reduces damage from foe's first attack during combat by 40%. :500 :200 |
|
Legendary Hector's weapon refine inflicts Atk/Def-5 and renders an enemy unit unable to make a follow-up attack if he's within 2 spaces of an ally.
Additionally, if an enemy unit initiates combat or their HP is ≥ 75%, they'll get an additional Atk/Def-5 debuff and Hector will reduce the damage of their first attack by 40%.
We recommend this refine as it makes Hector into a very effective tank that gives a total of Atk/Def-10 in additional to the damage reduction.

L!Hector is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Legendary Hector is a Fire-Type Legendary Hero, and when summoned, you will receive a Fire Blessing. During Fire Season, allies who appear in a team alongside L!Hector will gain HP+3 and Atk+2 when they have been given a Fire Blessing.
L!Hector's exclusive weapon Thunder Armads, prevents enemies from making follow-up attacks on Hector if there are more allies in 2 spaces compared to the number of foes within the same range.
Because Hector also has Crafty Fighter 3, he can easily get guaranteed follow-up attacks of his own while also inflicting the Guard status on his target.
The combination of these skills can make very deadly in the enemy phase.
The refined version of this weapon makes him even stronger, as it prevents the follow-up attack as long as Hector is within 2 spaces of an ally.
It will also inflict a total of Atk/Def-10 to enemy units and will reduce the damage of their first attack by 40%.
Ostia's Pulse grants Special cooldown count -1 to all allies on the start of turn 1, as long as the number of allies with the same movement type on his team is ≤ 2. This skill is excellent on a mixed mobility team, but you may want to swap it out if you are thinking of using an all-armor party.
Distant Counter allows L!Hector to counterattack foes regardless of distance. Because of this, L!Hector can counterattack any foe if it doesn't have a skill that prevents counterattacks.
L!Hector is an armored unit, making him weak to skills against such units such as Armorslayer+ and Hana's Katana. If attacked by a unit with Armorslayer+, Hector will take 1.5x damage. Be mindful of what skills your enemies are equipped with. There are lots of weapons like these in the upper ranks of Aether Raids and Arena so be careful, and alllow another unit to take these foes out for him.
Because he is an armored unit, he can only normally move 1 space at a time. It is recommended that you inherit skills such as Armor March and Pivot to increase L!Hector's mobility.
Halloween Myrrh | Flying Olivia | Idunn | Ophelia |
Reinhardt | Legendary Tiki (Young) | Legendary Azura | Brave Ephraim |
Despite L!Hector's high defense, his Res stat sits at 26 at Lv. 40. If you are attacked by a red attribute magic user, you will likely be taken out in one turn. Because of this, it is best if you pair up L!Hector with a hero that can easily take out red foes such, as Reinhardt or Ophelia.
L!Hector is an armored unit. Therefore, he can only move one space at a time. This can make him hard to use in limited-turn maps such as Mjolnir Strike or Rival Domains. To cover this weakness, pair him up with units that can grant him extra actions such as Reyson or Peony. You can also opt to use units with Armor March 3 such as Halloween Myrrh or Picnic Flora.
Caeda | Celica | Hana | Lilina |
Hoshidan Summer Micaiah | Idunn | Phina | Halloween Hector |
As stated above, L!Hector has trouble dealing with red magic units. When using L!Hector, watch out for foes like Celica or Lilina, who can take him out in one shot. However, he can deal with red physical units who do not have armor-effective weapons pretty well for a green unit. Leave red magic users for your other units instead.
Units like Hana and Hoshidan Summer Micaiah have armor-effective exclusive weapons that can easily take out L!Hector in one turn. Such units are fairly common in the higher ranks of Aether Raids and the Arena, so be mindful of L!Hector's positioning in relation to them, and leave them to an ally when possible.

Mind sitting with me for a bit? There’s something I want to ask you. Do you...believe in destiny? Not too long ago, I would’ve laughed at the idea. But now... Well, things sure have changed. Whether or not you believe in destiny isn’t what matters. What matters is that you don’t regret your decisions. As long as you’re strong to the core, you’ll be ready no matter what the future throws at you. You won’t blink when faced with a life- or-death moment. This goes for me... But it goes for you, too. I can just tell. The look on your face says it all. I know, I know, I’m not usually one for talks such as these. Being marquess is one thing I’m not cut out for. But I guess... It is what it is, right? And that means I’ve gotta lecture from time to time, so just work with me. |
