The best IVs for Castor are +Atk and -Res. Castor's stats are just average, with nothing standing out aside from Atk. As such, boosting his Atk is the best way to make Castor perform his job as intended.

Castor is lackluster compared to recently released units, but he can still hold his own with a budget build. Stacking Spd skills may not allow him to outspeed the fastest metagame units, but it is enough to outspeed the units a tier below that.

Castor is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Castor Strengths

Vulture Bow+ amplifies penalties

Castor's inheritable Vulture Bow+ inflicts Atk/Def-5 to his foe and additional Atk/Def penalties depending on the current Atk/Def stat penalties already applied to the foe.

This weapon continues the Vulture weapon line, joining others such as Vulture Blade+ and Rauðrvulture+.

While this weapon isn't as impactful as other inheritable weapons such as Arcane Darkbow, Arcane Náströnd, or even Whitecap Bow+, it packs enough power when utilized properly to be relevant in battle.

Castor Weaknesses

Underwhelming Stat Line

Castor's stats are all over the place, with only HP and Atk being above average in modern standards.

He simply just lacks the raw stats necessary to stand out, especially without an exclusive skill to call his own.

As of now, Castor is just outclassed by Cyril, another Red Bow Infantry unit that is also acquirable for free.

Lack of Unique Skills

Castor suffers from not having any unique skills to call his own, making him unable to stand out amongst other units.

Infantry Bow units are quite abundant in the game, and lacking an exclusive weapon makes Castor replaceable by better units.
