When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Winter Edelgard are +Atk and -Spd. An Atk superboon boosts Edelgard's already high Atk stat from base 47 to base 51, allowing her to one-shot enemies down with Black Yule Lance and Armored Blaze. The extra action granted by Raging Tempest allows Edelgard to attack multiple foes in one turn, potentially sweeping the map with ease if her Atk stat is high enough.
Spd is a clear dump stat and can be safely taken as a bane. No amount of investment will help her outspeed her foes through raw stats alone.
We recommend +Atk when merging Winter Edelgard up to +10 to maximize her chances of defeating her foes in one attack.

Black Yule Lance at full power pre-charges Winter Edelgard's Special skill by 3 cooldown, inflicts Atk/Def-15 on foe, and completely neutralizes her foe's non-Special damage reduction effects and non-Special Miracle effects.
Achieving full power isn't a terribly difficult task, but does require proper setup to execute perfectly.
Winter Edelgard's exclusive B skill Raging Tempest grants +1 movement and 【Charge】 to Winter Edelgard at the start of turn.
In combat, Raging Tempest inflicts Atk/Def-5 on Edelgard's foe and grants Edelgard bonus damage equal to 15% of her Atk and an extra action if Edelgard initiated combat.
Skills that grant extra actions are always powerful. Raging Tempest is just as powerful, if not better than, the other extra action skills, and its conditions for triggering are very easy to meet.
The bonus damage together with Black Yule Lance's effects significantly improve Edelgard's knockout power, allowing her to burst down multiple foes with ease.
Winter Edelgard has an abysmal Spd stat of only base 17, and has no effects that prevent her foe's follow-up attacks in combat.
She will be doubled often, making her completely reliant on her excellent bulk to survive engagements.
Winter Edelgard takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Randgríðr, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
