When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Murdock will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Atk/-Spd

The best IVs for Murdock are +Atk and -Spd. His base Atk is quite high at base 45, increased to base 49 through a superboon. Boosting Murdock's Atk allows him to hit harder and increase his chances of obtaining a knockout.

We recommend a -Spd bane for Murdock as it is his least important stat. He will be outsped by a majority of the cast, even with investment.

+Atk for a +10 merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Murdock up to +10 in order to hit as hard as possible.

Murdock is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Murdock Strengths

Wyvern Hatchet improves upon Murdock's defensive role

Murdock's exclusive weapon Wyvern Hatchet has a built-in Distant Counter effect, grants a guaranteed follow-up attack, and inflicts Atk/Def penalties on the foe during combat.

This powerful axe allows Murdock to lean further into his role as a physical tank by reducing his foe's Atk by up to -13, while also allowing him to defeat his foe with the reduced Def and guaranteed follow-up attack.

Murdock Weaknesses

Below Average Spd

Murdock's Spd is quite low at only base 23. Even with maximum investment through a superboon, dragonflowers, and merges, Murdock still isn't fast enough to rely on his Spd to avoid follow-up attacks.

Without a way to deny follow-up attacks on any of his skills, Murdock is prone to getting attacked twice by a majority of the cast.

Weak to Armor Effective Weapons

Murdock takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Slaying Hammer+, Randgríðr, or Thani, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

Obtain through a Grand Hero Battle

Murdock is a Hero who, for a limited time, can be obtained through completing a Grand Hero Battle for the first time. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.

"Should You Unlock Potential for this Hero? Cannot Unlock Potential" We can unlock his potential now, i have 3 four star copies of him.

I have a slight improvement for his budget build. For his C slot, inherit even def 2 from Silas instead, and use the odd def wave 3 seal. This way, he gets activation of his atk/def ideal every turn (with his current build he only gets it when at 100% hp).
