During the Termina section and your journey to Viper's Manor in Chrono Cross Remaster: Radical Dreamers Edition, you'll have to find a guide and there will be three available ones to choose from. Guile is the Best Character Overall

Guiile is the best character to recuit as he's the second strongest black innate next to a temporary black character your'll have only for a short time of the game. The other two guides are also blue innates which is beat by Leena which you can obtain much earlier in the game.

Pierre is Great With the Hero's Set

Pierre is a subpar character but gets really stronger later with the hero set equipped but it is only done later on in the game.

Nikki is an Average Character

Nikki is the most “normal” character among the three characters to choose from. His stats are average and he's also a blue innate which makes Leena a better choice if you don't want a duplicate blue member in your roster.

Leena is arguably one of the stronger, if not, the strongest blue innate character in the game depending on the stat you're looking for. She can replenish her own elements in battle and even use a buff to resurrect herself when she falls. If you have Leena in your party and do not want a double blue team, consider recruiting Guile.

While it is possible to have a black innate character by recruiting Mojo, Mojo is a subpar character that doesn't really offer much on the table while Guile is much more superior and gets better the later the game goes on which is another point to consider recruiting Guile instead of the other two guides to the Manor.
