Obtain Either Ice Breath or Ice Gun Cool Scorched Earth at Hermit's Hideout Add Poshul to Your Party and Examine the Area

Recruit Turnip in Hermit's Hideaway (Another World)

Obtain Either Ice Breath or Ice Gun

Turnip can be recruited after obtaining either the Ice Breath or Ice Gun.

Cool Scorched Earth at Hermit's Hideout

After acquiring one of the two, use it to cool the patch of scorched earth in front of the large tree trunk at Hermit's Hideout (Another World).

Add Poshul to Your Party and Examine the Area

Afterwards, go to Hermit's Hideaway (Home World) with Poshul in your party and examine the plant that has grown in the same spot. You will find Turnip there, waiting to join your party.

Take Neofio and Turnip to Neofio's Spring in Viper Manor

Veg Out is Turnip's Level 7 tech and is obtained by examining the pond where you first recruit Neofio. Naturally, you need to recruit Neofio first and have Neofio in your party as well or Turnip won't be able to get into the pond.

After joining your party, you can hear more about Turnip's motivations of joining as well as his outlook with regards to his existence by going to the resting area of soldiers at Viper Manor and talking to the sleeping soldier.

There, Turnip questions the nature of his existence and wishes to move forward in hopes of learning the truth about himself.

Similarities with Frog

Turnip bears similar characteristics as Chrono Trigger's Frog in terms of appearance and manner of speaking.

Both are small characters wielding a short sword, sporting light armor fit for a soldier, as well as a cape. In addition, both Frog and Turnip speak with a distinct Old English accent, which many fans of Chrono Trigger can easily pick up.
