How to Beat Giant Gloop

Watch Out for its Tech Skill Take In

Take In
The Giant Gloop's Tech Skill, Take In, deals a lot of damage which could also inflict flu status to your party.

Be sure to keep your health up, never going below 70 percent to mark yourself safe from the Giant Gloop's attacks!

Exploit its Weakness to Red Elements

Magma Burst

Given that the Giant Gloop is a Blue-innate boss it is highly recommended to use Red Elements against it.

Having Red Elemental Abilities like Magma Burst or Fire Pillar will deal massive damage against the Giant Gloop.

Break Field Effect When Blue Field is Casted

Should the Giant Gloop cast the skill Blue Field, the Field Effect will immediately turn completely blue.

Allowing this to go on further while the Giant Gloop attacks with Elemental Abilities and Tech Skills will only make the battle much harder, so break the all-Blue Field Effect immediately after it casts Blue Field!

Set Up Iceberg Trap Element

Another trick to bypass a powerful attack from the Giant Gloop when it casts Blue Field is by setting up the Trap Element Iceberg. Not only this will save you from a devastating attack for a turn, but you'll also snag a powerful Elemental Ability in the process!

General Tips

Deal Massive Damage with Dual Techs

X-Strike

If you managed to recruit Glenn in your playthrough, you will have access to a Dual Tech Skill between him and Serge called X-Strike.

Name Description
X-Strike A Red-innate combo attack on a single target, that requires the powers of Dash&Slash (Serge) and Dash&Gash (Glenn) to perform.

Pairing this Dual Tech Skill with their Level 5 Single Tech Skills will make this battle more manageable, especially since the Giant Gloop's weakness is Red-innate attacks!

There are more Dual Techs out there, even Triple Techs, so it's best to recruit as many characters as possible to see the other kinds of group Tech Skills you can execute to deal devastating damage against your foes!
