Recruit Mel After Saving Kid

In order to get Mel, you should save Kid in Guldove (Another World). She's poisoned and needs a Hydra Humour. You can get it at Hydra Marshes (Home World) but do note that if you want to get Razzly in your party too, you need to save her first before coming for the Hydra.

Should You Save Kid?

Go After Mel and Retrieve Kid's Elements

When asked whether you should chase Mel to get Kid's elements, be sure to pick “You need those Elements” and “No, let's go after Mel”. You need to choose both options and if you choose not to chase after Mel, you can't recruit her nor get the Guldovian Stitch Frame.

Check Orlha's Bar

The first place you need to check for signs of Mel is Orlha's Bar. Simply talk to Orlha and she will tell you that she hasn't seen her in her bar.

Check the Shaman's Place

From Orlha's Bar, climb the ladder to its left and go to the Shaman's Shrine. Talk to the guard and he will tell you that you should go look for Mel at the Residential Tower.

Go to the Residential Tower

Go to the Residential Tower where you'll see Mel crying. Kid gets her elements back and teases Mel. Your party is now ready to go to Termina (Another World)!

Go to Termina (Another World) and Recruit Korcha

Talk to Korcha at the docks so he can row you back to Termina (Another World). Go towards the inn to trigger a cutscene.

After the cutscene, go back to Korcha so he can lend you his boat. Be sure to accept his offer to join your party before heading back to Guldove!

Find Mel in Guldove (Another World)

All you need to do now is to go back to Guldove and talk to Mel at the Residential Tower.

She automatically joins your party upon talking to her and she gives you the Guldovian Stitch Frame too!

Mel Story Explained

Mel's Background

Mel is the bratty, adopted daughter of Macha and the younger sibling of Korcha. Mel has feelings for his sibling Korcha, who she has no blood relations whatsoever. These feelings are something she acts upon, by stealing Kid's elemental grid, because Korcha has a crush on Kid.

After talking to Kid, she gets convinced to join Serge's party.
