How to Beat Dark Serge
Equip the Black Plate Beforehand
Be sure to equip the Black Plate you previously stole from the Black Dragon, as it will absorb Dark Serge's Black-innate attacks and heal you in the process.
However, try not to get too complacent just because of the armor, since Dark Serge has a bunch of non-Black Elemental Abilities up his sleeve.
It is also worth noting that if you equip the Black Plate on Lynx, Dark Serge will be more likely to cast Ultra Nova.
How to Get Black Plate: Armor Stats and Info
Exploit His Weakness to White Elements
Given that Dark Serge is a Black-innate boss, you can take advantage of his weakness by using high-leveled White Elements like Holy Light and Meteor Shower.
Finding the balance between using White Elements and healing is vital for this boss battle and slipping at least once can lead to serious consequences.
Heal Consistently
Be sure to keep your health up by healing as soon as your health goes under 75 percent.
Doing this ensures that you will be marked safe from any of the Dark Serges attacks.

General Tips
Deal Massive Damage with Dual Techs
If you have both Radius and Viper in your party, you will have access to a Dual Tech Skill between them called VitalEnergy.
Pairing this Dual Tech Skill with their Single Tech Skills will speed up the fight.
There are more Dual Techs out there, even Triple Techs, so it's best to recruit as many characters as possible to see the other kinds of group Tech Skills you can execute to deal devastating damage against your foes!

Bring Steena to the Fight
It's highly recommended to bring Steena along to the fight, especially if she has her Level 7 Tech Skill, Garai's Shadow.
If buffed, her Tech Skill can easily deal over one thousand damage! Just be sure to keep her defenses up to be able to survive Dark Serge's Black-innate attacks.
