This is a boss guide on how to beat FATE in Chrono Cross Remaster: The Radical Dreamers Edition. Read on to learn more information on FATE, its Abilities, item drops, and how to beat FATE fast!

How to Beat FATE

The Countdown is its Attack Pattern

# Attack Effect
5 Diminish Lowers Element and Tech Skill power.
4 Gravitonne Damages entire party.
3 Heat Ray Major damage to a single character. Chance of Darkness.
2 Free Fall Major damage to a single character.
1 Gravity Blow x2 Minor damage to two characters.
0 Dark Energy Major damage to the entire party.

FATE will stick with this attack pattern for the entire fight. While it does seem daunting seeing all the consecutive attacks it will dish out, you can use it to your advantage by knowing what moves it will be doing per turn.

Nullify Yourself From its Abilities

Equip the Black Plate on Serge

Equipping the Black Plate on Serge is very important as it cuts down having to cast buffs and other abilities during battle.

With the Black Plate equipped, Serge will then be able to absorb all Black-innate abilities and heal him in the process.

Cast Negate Magic

Negate Magic

Another trick you can use to temporarily mark you safe from FATE's Elemental attacks is by casting Negate Magic to one of your party members, as it nullifies all magic attacks of FATE.

Having the Black Plate and a character with Negate Magic will you can focus on whittling down FATE's health and much less on healing and buffs.

Negate Magic: Element Effects and How to Get

Always Be Attacking

Fate Diminish

FATE isn't exactly strong, but what makes this battle challenging is that its timed. Failing to end the battle when the timer runs out will lead to it casting its devastating Tech Skill, Dark Energy.

That said, it is important to always be on the offensive side and heal only when it is needed. If Serge has the Black Plate equip, then things shouldn't be a problem.

To maximize damage, always end your physical combos with a Level 5 or 7 Tech Skill, or by unleashing powerful Elemental Abilities!

General Tips

Speed Up the Fight Using Summons

Saints

Since the battle is timed, you can plan to use a succession of same-innate attacks which could then end with a powerful Summon ability.

Remember, you must first set the Field Effect to one solid color for you to be able to cast Summons!
