Radical Dreamers is a text-based game released by SquareSoft in 1996. The game references characters from Chrono Trigger and characters from Chrono Cross, which was released three years later.

Radical Dreamers never made it to the West, but was finally localized over two decades later in the Chrono Cross Remaster.

Radical Dreamers' story is presented through Serge's point of view and chronicles the journey of the band of thieves as they make their way to Viper Manor to face off against Lynx and take the Frozen Flame.

Is Radical Dreamers Canon?

Radical Dreamers was known to be canon until the release of Chrono Cross in 1999, wherein story changes were made, making the events of Radical Dreamers inconsistent altogether.

Is Magil Guile in Radical Dreamers?

Magil is Magus, but not Guile

With the release of the text-based adventure game, Radical Dreamers in 1996, the development team of Chrono Cross considered adding one of the protagonists of the band of thieves, Magil (also known as Magus from Chrono Trigger) to the roster of the upcoming game.

However, plans of adding Magil to Chrono Cross was eventually scrapped after deeming that his back story was too complicated to the already complicated plot of Chrono Cross.

With the character design all set, they reworked the story of the character, leading to the creation of Guile instead.
