The quest starts in Odin's Rest outside of Hemthorpe immediately after the On Borrowed Time quest.

Of Blood and Gods - Find and speak to the seer.png
 Head to the seer's hut outside Hemthorpe's northeast gate and speak to her.

Of Blood and Gods - Follow the seer.png
 Follow the seer to the foot of The Sleeping Jotun.

Of Blood and Gods - Explore the Sleeping Jotun.png
 Climb to the synchronization point of The Sleeping Jotun and use the Meditate feature on the designated spot.
A cutscene with Hemming's spirit will play out after meditating.

Of Blood and Gods - Defeat Hemming Jarl.png
 Another cutscene will play out once you drop Hemming's HP to zero.
The quest finishes after the cutscene.

Boss Strategies: How to Beat Hemming

Of Blood and Gods - Hemming boss fight banner.png

  • Dropping to zero HP will not result in your death. The fight will simply reset afterward with HP, rations, and arrows fully replenished.
  • Hemming's HP also replenishes after the reset.
  • Be mindful of Hemming's long-reaching combo attacks with his spear at all times.
  • Watch out for Hemming's Dive of the Valkyries attack. Getting hit by this will result in massive damage.
  • Hemming occassionally throw spears towards you from range. Always be prepared to dodge out of the way.
  • Hemming will stagger off-balance if every time you successfully parry two consecutive light attacks and his stun bar will take a massive hit. Use this to your advantage!
  • Hemming will teleport to another area of The Sleeping Jotun once he drops to about 50% HP. Watch out for his spears while chasing him down.
  • Lightning will randomly strike the ground once Hemming's HP drops to about 50% HP. Be prepared to dodge out of the way!
  • Hemming can parry light attacks as well with two heavy attacks. Avoid spamming your light attacks from the front to prevent this from happening.
