The quest starts in Ravensthorpe after pledging to the Cent territory. This marks the beginning of The Instrument of The Ancients story arc.
|1||Enlarge Find and speak to Basim||Travel to Saint Hadrian's Priory in Cent and approach Basim.|
|2||Enlarge Follow Basim||- A short cutcene will play out after a short walk with Basim.
NOTE: Dialogue options during the cutscene are inconsequential to the story.
|3||Enlarge Reach Tonbridge Inn||Ride south towards Tonnbridge Inn just outside its monastery.|
|4||Enlarge Ask about the emissary||Gather clues regarding the emissary's whereabouts by speaking to the locals.
- Players who can afford to lose 165 silver can simply speak to the local inside the house beside the stable and bribe him for information.
- Players with Charisma level three can attain this information from the same local for free.
|5||Enlarge Find and speak to the bard||Head to the bridge located south of the Inn and look for the bard.
TIP: Use Odin's Sight to determine his exact location.
|6||Enlarge Sober up the bard||- Players will find the bard passed out somewhere under the bridge.
- Carry him to the river and drop his body into the water. This will force him to wake up.
|7||Enlarge Speak to the bard||Players can either pay the bard 165 silver or simply threaten him to get information about the emissary.|
|8||Enlarge Find and get the message||- Travel to Dover Fortress and get King Aelfred's orders from the emissary.
- Players can either initiate a raid and fight through the fortress or sneak inside.
- Use Odin's Sight to determine the exact location of the emissary inside Dover Fortress.
- Players can also get the information by stealing King Aelfred's orders from the emissary.
- Approach the emissary from behind while crouched. A button prompt to steal the orders will pop up once players are in range.
