The quest starts in Wesberie after the Bloody Path to Peace quest.
|1||Follow Ivarr to the forward camp in preparation for the assault on Caustow Castle.|
|2||Speak to Ivarr to initiate the assault.|
|3||Manually push the cart or let NPCs push it for you and defend it against Rhodri's men instead.
Prepare to brace if a red circle spawns directly below the oil cart while manually pushing it.
|4||Ignite the oil cart to breach the outer gate.|
|5||Breach the inner gate by throwing oil jars at it.
Oil jars spawn to the left of the inner gate.
|6||Shoot the links on either side of the drawbridge to gain access to the castle keep.

|7||Eliminate the remainder of Rhodri's men and force the door to the castle keep open.
A cutscene will play out as soon as you enter the keep.
|8||Stow Rhodri on your horse and ride with Ivarr to his desired location.
A cutscene will play out once you reach your destination.
|9||A holmgang between you and Ivarr ensues after the cutscene.

|10||Travel back to Quatford and speak to Deorlaf inside the longhouse.
Ubba will be inside the longhouse as well. You have the option to tell him the truth or lie about Ivarr's fate.

|Look to your right and climb the scaffolding towards the edge of the inner wall.|
|You have a clear angle to shoot both links from this spot.
Shoot them quickly as enemy archers may perform arrow showers to this location.

This decision is ultimately inconsequential to the overall story of Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
Simply choose which dialogue option resonates with them more after considering the revelations that lead to Ivarr's boss fight.
It is important to note, however, that whatever you decide here ties into a major decision with Ubba later in Quatford.
|WARNING: This section contains spoilers. Read on if you do NOT mind spoilers.|
Converse with Ubba at Quatford's longhouse. You have a choice to tell Ubba the truth or lie about what you've done after the boss fight with Ivarr.
This is a major decision that will affect the events of another quest later on!
Telling the Truth, regardless of what you did, positively affects the events that unfold during the Reap What Was Sown quest in Ravensthorpe later on.
Ubba will arrive in Ravensthorpe and to speak with you. He will give you a silver ring as a token of appreciation for your honesty.
Lying to Ubba, however, negatively affects the events during the Reap What Was Sown quest in Ravensthorpe later on.
An angry Ubba will storm into Ravensthorpe and request an audience with you. The heated conversation will culminate in a brawl.
Take note that the third option: He Wanted Death is only considered the truth if you sent Ivarr to Valhalla after his boss fight.
