The quest begins in Lyftmere's Pond, south of Tonnastadir after the events of the Bartering quest.

Outside Templebrough Fort

This quest can also start in Sigurd and Ubba's camp outside of Templebrough Fort, Eurvicscire if players complete The Walls of Templebrough quest first.

TIPS:
- Players can get to Ledecestre via longship or horseback.
- Use the Follow The River or Follow The Road features to automatically navigate to Ledecestre.
- Ivarr will be on top of the southwest tower in Ledecestre.
2 Rumors of Ledecestre - Look for clues.pngEnlarge Explore Ledecestre for clues - Players will be tasked to search for information at the old bathhouse and the church in Ledecestre.
TIPS:
- Searching the old bathhouse first will automatically complete this phase of the quest.

3 Rumors of Ledecestre - Speak to Ceolbert.pngEnlarge Speak to Ceorlbert - Players will see Ceorlbert hiding inside the locked room of the old bathhouse.
- Ceorlbert will reveal that he was Ivarr's missing spy.
4 Rumors of Ledecestre - Protect Ceolbert.pngEnlarge Protect Ceolbert Protect Ceorlbert as you both fight your way to safety.
5 Rumors of Ledecestre - Eliminate the soldiers in the market.pngEnlarge Eliminate the soldiers in the market Eliminate the remaining soldiers in the market.
6 Rumors of Ledecestre - Speak to Ceolbert again.pngEnlarge Speak to Ceolbert again Speaking to Ceorlbert after the fight will trigger a cutscene, completing the quest.

Stealth Routes

Sneaking into the Church

Rumors of Ledecestre - Church stealth route part 1.pngEnlarge - The area east of the Church is lightly guarded.
- Climb the ladder and enter via the breakable window at the top.
Rumors of Ledecestre - Church stealth route part 2.pngEnlarge - Cross to the other side via the ropes and break the wooden wall to gain access to the locked room.
- Players can distract the guards with the stone blocks near the door by shooting the pulley that is suspending them.
Rumors of Ledecestre - Church stealth route part 3.pngEnlarge Drop down and walk down the stairs.
Rumors of Ledecestre - Church stealth route part 4.pngEnlarge - Information regarding Burgred's plans are located at the end of the tunnel.
- Players can also acquire Skadi's Wrath in this area.

Sneaking into the Old Bathhouse

Rumors of Ledecestre - Old Bathhouse stealth route part 1.pngEnlarge - Climb the scaffolding at the left of the old bathhouse and enter the opening in the wall at the top.
- Be wary of the guards stationed near the scaffolding. One of them will be patrolling the area.
Rumors of Ledecestre - Old Bathhouse stealth route part 2.pngEnlarge - The bathhouse is guarded by three soldiers with one holding the key to the locked door at the other end.
- Kill the soldiers and get the key.
Rumors of Ledecestre - Old Bathhouse stealth route part 3.pngEnlarge - Enter the locked door at the other end of the bathhouse.
- Players will find Ceorlbert hiding inside, triggering phase 4 of the quest.
