Explore the bathhouse		 Head south and search the old bathhouse in Lincoln.
The entrance to the sewers is hidden behind a breakable wall.

Discover where the sewers lead		 Follow the sewers and search for clues regarding the missing Ealdorman.

Investigate the scene		 Signs at the end of the tunnel suggest that a fight broke out recently.
Fill the progress bar by analyzing clues in the area
TIPS:
Use Odin's Sight to highlight objects of interest.
The key that unlocks the door to the final clue is located below the waterfall.

Find and speak to Ealdorman Hundbeorht		 Travel to Bolingbroc Castle and search for Ealdorman Hundbeorht.
You can either fight your way through the front or sneak inside.
A cutscene plays out as soon as you enter the Ealdorman's chambers.

Search for proof		 Search the room for anything that can be brought back to Hunwald as proof of his father's fate.
TIP: Use Odin's Sight to highlight objects of interest in the area.

In the Absence of an Ealdorman - Return the brooch to Hunwald.png
Return the brooch to Hunwald		 Return to Lincoln and give the brooch to Hunwald.
A cutscene will play out as soon as you enter the town hall.
The quest finishes after the cutscene and most of Lincoln will no longer be a distrust zone.

Stealth Guide: Sneaking into Bolingbroc Castle

In the Absence of an Ealdorman - Bolingbroc Castle stealth route part 1.png
 Start by heading north and following the creek that divides Bolingbroc Castle.
Be mindful of any guards stationed along the wall as they can easily spot you.
TIPS:
You can snipe guards stationed in towers and along the walls if you have enough range damage.
It is recommended that you use Hunter Bows and Predator Bows for this.

 Continue following the creek until you cross the drawbridge.

 Climb the low wall located at the right of the drawbridge.

 Continue climbing towards the keep.
This place may have patrolling guards. Be mindful of your surroundings at all times.

 Jump down to the other side of the wall and infiltrate the keep via the open window below.

 Eliminate all of the guards inside.
TIPS:
Eliminate multiple guards at the same time via the chandeliers hanging on top of the room.
Engaging the guards in open combat will not alert any guards outside.

 Enter the door marked with a swan emblem and follow the stairs down to the Ealdorman's chamber.
