The prologue will immediately begin once you start a New Game from the title screen.

Relive Eivor's Childhood		 The game will start with a series of cutscenes depicting Eivor's childhood.
The prologue is mostly cinematic, with only a few parts requiring you to control Eivor.

Gender select screen.png
Select Eivor's Gender		 After the scene where Eivor is attacked by a wolf on top a frozen lake, the game will take you to a screen where you can choose Eivor's gender.
You can swap Eivor's gender at any time and will not reset abilities and story progress.
The Prologue ends shortly after choosing a gender.
