The quest starts in Ravensthorpe immediately after the Yule Festival quest's cutscene.

1 Talk to Reveler Alwin Speak to Reveler Alwin inside Tekla's Brewery in Ravensthorpe.
2 Find and talk to Ake Ake is located west of Utbech Camp in Grantebridgescire.
Speak to him to initiate a cutscene.
TIP: Use Odin's Sight and Raven's-Eye View to determine his exact location.
3 Find the secret brew Tekla's secret brew is located in the largest hut of Utbech Camp.
Fight or sneak your way into Utbech Camp and recover the brew.
WARNING: Initiating a raid into Utbech Camp may result in bugs regarding the barrel.
4 Bring back the secret brew Follow the southern road from Utbech Camp and return the secret brew to Ake who is waiting at the riverbank.
You receive 140 Yule Tokens for completing this quest.
Ake becomes a possible opponent in the Yule Brawl after this quest.
WARNING: The objective marker for this particular phase of the quest may lead you towards a random area in Sciropscire. Ignore this marker and refer to the image on the left for the correct designated area.

Below is a list of known bugs regarding The Case of the Missing Ale quest:

  • Tekla's secret brew is invisible. The secret brew may disappear entirely after dropping it on the ground.
  • Tekla's secret brew can completely disappear if you initiate a raid into Utbech Camp.
  • Tekla's secret brew can drop to the bottom of a body of water and becomes unretrievable when wading through water up to Eivor's waist in height.
  • Tekla's secret brew can disappear and return to its original location in Utbech Camp if you drop it on the ground.
  • Quest marker for the Bring back the secret brew objective is known to show incorrect information during the quest.

Ok so: I was able to start the quest, infiltrate the camp, acquire the ale, and escape with it successfully. Ake wasn't along the coast with his boat. I went up the cliffs where the mission started and Ake was just standing there and wouldn't interact. Then suddenly, a zealot appeared and Ake jumped OFF THE CLIFF and started fighting her????? And kept requesting for me to revive him. I kept getting myself killed and restarted the entire game to try and reset everything, but nothing works 😭
