A Cruel Destiny Walkthrough | How To Beat Kjotve

A Cruel Destiny Location

The starting location is at Kjotve's forward base in Florli where Sigurd and the rest of the raiding party have successfully captured and secured after the events at Nottfall.

1	Speak to Sigurd	Talk to Sigurd atop a watchtower inside Florli.
2	Kill Kjotve The Cruel	Eivor will challenge Kjotve to a Holmgang. The Assault on Kjotve's fortress will begin once Kjotve is killed. Click here to see boss fight strategies for Kjotve!
3	Unlock the Outer Gate	Use the ladders that the raid party has set up across the outer wall. Once you've scaled the wall, head to the gate and hit the locks with melee attacks.
4	Unlock the Final Gate	Climb the inner wall and break the locks to open the gate, similar to the first gate. A Woe-Breaker guards the way to the final gate. Watch out for its heavy attacks. Click here to see the route to the Final Gate.
5	Confront Gorm	Gorm will be hiding at the temple in the innermost area of Kjotve's Fortress. Climb the scaffolding inside the temple to reach the higher floor and chase after Gorm. The assault ends once Eivor sees Gorm fleeing from the fortress on horseback.
6	Speak to Sigurd	Look for Sigurd outside the temple. Talk to him to trigger a cutscene, which completes the quest afterwards.

	Jump to the right of the gate's bridge
	Follow the river up-stream.
	Scale the wall via the opening at the end of the river.

A Cruel Destiny: How To Beat Kjotve

Phase One

• Kjotve can deal very high damage with great speed. Be mindful of your stamina during the fight.
• Do NOT over-commit when attacking. Back off after two to three hits to bait his counters and grapples.
• Kjotve starts the fight with his bare hands. He will have devastating quick grapples during this phase so be always ready to dodge at a moment's notice.
• Kjotve will wield his axes once he drops to 65% OR if your health drops to zero for the first time.
• A cutscene involving Odin will play out once your health drops to zero. This will restore your HP to full and resume the fight. Kjotve will wield his axes after the cutscene regardless of his current HP.
• Odin will only you from dying ONCE during this phase.
• Kjotve will drag the player to another area once his health drops to about 35%. This will start Phase Two of the fight.

Phase Two

• The fight resumes in the pit after the cutscene where Hytham attempts to assassinate Kjotve.
• Kjotve may use the nearby corpses as weapons during this phase. Be mindful of his position in the pit to figure out when he'll use a corpse.
• A cutscene depicting Kjotve's final moments will play out as soon as his health drops to zero, marking the end of the boss fight.
